BMW S 1000 RR: the redefinition of a sporting concept [VIDEO]

Style, chassis, suspension, assistance solutions and engine evolve. The new BMW S1000RR It features distinctive winglets, looking at the front, as well as several innovations and a more powerful heart. The model for 2023

One of the immediately evident innovations, as already noted on the exclusive M 1000RR, is the presence of the winglets in the frontal area. These are appendages that favor the increase in load during acceleration. Aerodynamic downforce and additional load on the wheels are useful to reduce the tendency to wheelie, while also strengthening stability.
Three colors are combined with the new Bavarian sports car: Blackstorm metallic, Style Passion in Racing Red non-metallic e Lightwhite non-metallic/BMW M. The front area, as mentioned, has been reconfigured and a lightened rear part can be seen.

Technical and technological aspects

Speaking of innovations, about the Dynamic Traction Control DTC a function is reported Slide Control. The rider can select two pre-set drift angles for the traction control system when accelerating out of corners. A possibility achieved with the use of a steering angle sensor. Up to the respective inclination angle, the traction control system allows the rear wheel to slip during acceleration when exiting corners, favoring a drift of the rear wheel. When the pre-set steering angle value is reached, the traction control intervenes to reduce slip and provide stability.

Also interesting ABS-Pro with new functions Brake Slide Assist e ABS Pro “Slick”. The new Brake Slide Assist function is suitable for those who frequent the tracks which, like the new DTC Slide Control function, relies on the steering angle sensors and allows the motorcyclist to set a specific sliding angle when braking during a cornering action , as indicated.
One of the crucial aspects of the model remains the aluminum bridge frame, composed of four gravity die-cast elements. The structure integrates the engine, inclined forward by 32 degrees, present as a load-bearing element.
Keeping lateral flexibility in mind, the main frame has been equipped with several openings in the lateral areas. During the definition, a further increase in driving precision was also considered. A flattening of the steering head angle by 0,5° was reported, as was a reduction of 3 millimeters in the offset of the steering plates.

Motor

The propulsion unit a four cylinders in line it is based on that of the current BMW S 1000 RR.
Now the power vertex reaches i 210 horses (154 kW) at 13.750 rpm, an increase of 3 horsepower (2 kW) compared to the previous example. The torque peak reaches altitude 113 Nm at 11.000 rpm. There is also a wider rev range with a maximum speed of 14.600 rpm.
