BMW Path 22 concept – BMW has unveiled its new Path 22 Concept, which will make its public debut at the Wheels & Waves Festival 2015. The new model from the German brand is based on the R Ninet and is described as BMW's attempt to get closer to the Scrambler world. As such, the bike is equipped with a revised suspension and aluminum wheels with rather “meaty” tires.

La BMW Path 22 Concept it is the result of a collaboration that goes far beyond the bike itself. BMW Motorrad invited the Ornamental artist Conifer and Mason Dyer of Dyer Brand to design the BMW Path 22 Concept together. “Based on our scrambler interpretation we wanted to create a sort of projection of the particular mix of peoples and cultures found at Wheels & Waves. Here we have found the ideal partners to do just that. The BMW Path 22 Concept captures everything that characterizes the people of Wheels & Waves, a very special party and lifestyle", He says Edgar Heinrich, Head of BMW Motorrad Design. The name “Path 22” refers to a secret corner frequented by surfers. This particular stretch of beach is inaccessible to cars and is located on the Atlantic coast of southern France, half an hour's drive through one of the largest pine forests in Europe. The path leading to this point leads precisely the number 22.

At the center of the BMW Path Concept 22 there is a powerful twin-cylinder boxer engine with universal joint, as is typical for BMWs. The rigid single-arm fork makes the five-spoke rear wheel visible, again a feature familiar to BMWs. The rest of the bike is equally genuine and down to earth. The classic circular headlamp, fuel tank and a short seat ensure agile proportions, while the body visually ends above the rear hub thus promising versatile handling. There BMW Path Concept 22 it also has the typical characteristics of the scrambler, such as studded tires, a large front wheel and a raised exhaust, all elements that allow the bike to move effortlessly on gravel and sand. There BMW Path 22 concept it also features Akrapovic stainless steel exhaust pipes, a leather seat and direction indicators integrated into the ends of the handlebars. Other highlights include designs by Ornamental Conifer (aka Nico Sclater) and two custom surfboard racks created by Mason Dyer, whose support panels can be folded or dismantled when not in use.
