BMW Motorrad Vision Next 100, is the perfect union of man and machine

The BMW Motorrad Vision Next 100 is the symbol of the ultimate riding experience. The pilot, who no longer has to wear a helmet or other protective clothing, intensely perceives centrifugal forces, acceleration, wind and nature. The driver is able to experience the environment around him with all his senses and enjoy every single moment. The design of the BMW Motorrad Vision Next 100 reflects the quintessence of a motorcycle. It is the perfect union of man and machine. Every detail is made with the utmost care and perfection. Thanks to iconic elements, such as the black triangular frame, the white lines and the classic shape of the boxer engine, in which the zero-emission propulsion unit is active, the visionary vehicle is immediately recognizable as a "real BMW".

The design recalls that of the first BMW model

The black triangular frame of the BMW Motorrad Vision Next 1000 intentionally links stylistically to the first BMW motorcycle, the R32 of 1923, but interprets it in a new way, as a functional sculpture: the frame unites the rear wheel and the front wheel, describing a dynamic wave. No bearings or joints are visible, the bike appears to be cast in a single piece. When viewed from the side, the frame gives the BMW Motorrad Vision Next 100 the image of a naked bike. In fact, even the seat position follows that of a roadster model. Thanks to the sophisticated positioning of the individual surfaces, the frame also provides complete protection against wind and weather, similar to a full-fairing motorcycle. The surface of the frame is made of a matte black textile material. Its silky shine and fine lines further accentuate the characteristic shape of the chassis, while simultaneously offering a modern interpretation of a classic BMW detail. The BMW logo is optimally highlighted on the dark frame. While driving, it shines in the famous white and blue colors.

Flexframe, goodbye steering joints

The flexframe, apparently cast in one piece, extends from the front wheel to the rear wheel of the BMW VISION NEXT 100. Its flexibility allows you to perform steering maneuvers without the need for the joints used today. When you move the handlebars, the shape of the entire frame changes, making it possible to change direction. The effort required varies depending on the riding situation: maneuvers with the bike stopped require only minimal effort, while at high speeds the frame offers high rigidity. The engine is housed in the center of the black chassis. It represents a stylistic element and, at the same time, a historical reminiscence: its shape and execution are reminiscent of the traditional BMW boxer engine, but it is now the home of the zero-emission propulsion unit. The shape of the “boxer” varies depending on the driving situation. In the rest state the unit adheres to the chassis. As soon as the driver sets off, the engine block slides out to the side. While riding, it thus optimizes the aerodynamics and protection of the motorcycle against bad weather. The polished aluminum highlights the engine area with refinement.
