BMW Motorrad: everything is ready for the Motor Bike Expo 2018

BMW Motorrad - For the fifth consecutive year BMW Motorrad will be among the protagonists of the Motor Bike Expo scheduled for next weekend at Verona Fiere.

In a stand completely renovated according to the "Make Life a Ride" philosophy, BMW Motorrad will exhibit the entire range of the Heritage world: the road R nineT, R nineT Racer e R nineT Pure, and the most “off-road” R nineT Urban G / S e R nineT Scrambler. The beating heart of the entire Heritage family is the characteristic air/oil-cooled Boxer engine which ensures all its classic driving pleasure. The longitudinally mounted boxer twin engine and shaft drive have been synonymous with BMW motorcycles for over 90 years. The air/oil-cooled BMW Motorrad Boxer engine with a displacement of 1.170 cm³ offers an unmistakable design, a rounded torque output and an original and unique sound like no other motorcycle engine.

With the launch of the Heritage range, BMW Motorrad has embraced the trend towards customization by creating, in 2017, BMW Motorrad Spezial: an ex-factory customization service in which you can modify your bike as you wish, thanks to a rich catalog of new original accessories. motorcycle directly during the assembly phase. BMW Motorrad Spezial will be present at the Motor Bike Expo in Verona with the entire Spezial product range which includes both exclusive optional factory equipment and products from the current range of original BMW Motorrad accessories.

Together with the Heritage range, BMW Motorrad will present the latest two additions to the Tour range: LA To 1600 B , To 1600 Grand America. The K 1600 B, the Bagger par excellence of the BMW Motorrad brand, was designed and created specifically to satisfy the desire for long road trips in complete comfort on a motorcycle that excites with every kilometer traveled on the asphalt. The “Black Storm metallic” color helps to enhance its typical Bagger shape and make it appear imposing and muscular at the same time. The contoured windshield and the characteristic rear section with LED indicators and integrated brake lights define its style. The black 6-cylinder heart completes the overall image of the bike's strong personality. 

The brand new K 1600 Grand America, just from its name, evokes boundless and evocative roads where you can get lost and find yourself. The imposing silhouette defines this Tourer with high performance and the luxury of unprecedented comfort. The legendary 6-cylinder in-line engine triumphs with unrivaled smoothness and impressive power. Always ready to go further. Even its profile is truly custom-built: from the high windshield to the characteristic rear with the easy-to-use topcase and backrest. There are no more excuses for postponing the trip you have always dreamed of to discover the most distant horizons.

Inside the BMW Motorrad stand, in an area set up specifically for this purpose, some special and unique models will be on display, created exclusively for BMW Motorrad such as BMW G 310 T - IED Design edition, the original Heritage style concept bike created by the Product Design students of IED Milan, based on the G 310 R roadster; BMW R nineT Scrambler “Hera”, the fascinating “luxury tracker” whose sinuous shapes were developed by the Milanese atelier South Garage in collaboration with Chop & Roll magazine; BMW R nineT Scrambler “Karl Maier”, original flat track version brought to the race at the last Wheels & Waves in Biarritz by speedway legend Karl Maier and BMW R nineT Urban G/S “Lac Rose Style”, a unique model that explicitly recalls the charm of the Paris-Dakar and the successes of the first G/S.

An absolute novelty of this year's edition is the area dedicated to the theme of Adventouring, where the BMW R 1200 GS, BMW R 1200 GS Adventure and the BMW G 310 GS set up for the next edition of the GS Academy. The instructors of the School, which has been a point of reference in the world of Enduro for over 10 years, will be present at the Fair to communicate the contents, dates and methods of participation in the 2018 Courses. The GS Academy is a driving and specialization in Off Road, which aims to provide its students with high level technical, theoretical and applied support to learn and improve their driving skills on off-road routes. The 2018 season will open in May, continuing throughout the summer until closing at the end of September. The location that will frame the school is the Rivalta Castle, in the Piacenza area.
