BMW Motorrad: all the updates for the 2017 Model Years

BMW Motorrad – The new features of BMW's 2017 Model Year range will include several restyling operations. The models can be ordered at all BMW dealers in the new configuration from August 2016.

With sales of the 2017 model year starting already in August 2016, the engines of the liquid-cooled boxer models will undergo further technical changes as well as the application of EU4 measures and the addition of side lights as required by law. Like the R 1200 GS Adventure, all liquid-cooled boxer models will now be equipped with a “judder damper” device on the driveshaft. New elements also include a revised selector drum actuator, driveshafts and driveshaft bearings. An OBD warning light in the dashboard has been added to comply with EU4 regulations. In addition to the technical changes mentioned above, the instrument panel of the BMW R 1200 GS now features an updated design. The range of optional accessories includes a new bar which allows the fitting of cylinder cover protectors – also available as optional accessories. While the instrument panel of the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure features a revised design. As of Model Year 2017, the matte Ocean Blue metallic color is no longer available for this motorcycle.

The “Triple Black” is, however, a special version of the BMW R 1200 GS. BMW is responding to a wish expressed by many customers by presenting this exceptional touring enduro in a virtually all black finish. The central fuel tank cover, the luggage compartment cover and the front mudguard in Blackstorm metallic, together with the side tank panels in Dark Slate metallic, give the legendary touring #enduro a particularly masculine look. Strong technical accents are expressed by the front and rear chassis in Agate Grey, together with the black color used for the engine, gearbox and swing arm. A new black seat with the letters “GS” embossed on the passenger section completes the striking appearance of the new R 1200 GS “Triple Black”.

BMW Motorrad announces the price of the new BMW R Nine T Scrambler at the BMW Motorrad Days 2016. It will be available in Italy at a turnkey price of EUR 14.000,00, VAT included (22%). The market launch is scheduled for September 16, 2016.
