BMW Motorrad – BMW Motorrad and Alpinestars have announced a collaboration that will lead to the creation of innovative safety systems for motorcycle clothing. The first product to be launched from this cooperation will be a BMW Motorrad jacket jointly developed by the two brands. The new BMW Motorrad jacket will be available in both men's and women's versions and the official presentation of this new BMW Motorrad model, with a newly developed airbag developed by Alpinestars, will be held before the end of the year.

The new jacket BMW Motorrad It is based on Alpinestars Tech-Air airbag system, the first airbag system that works independently without the need for sensors to be installed on the motorcycle and the consequent need to connect a specific model to the airbag system used by the rider. This means that the airbag jacket delivers greater driving freedom on any surface, at any time and with any type of BMW Motorrad motorcycle or scooter, which allows the rider to easily switch between various two-wheelers without always having to reconfigure or reinitialize his set up. So the system is immediately ready for use and no time is wasted in creating an electronic coupling between the rider and/or passenger and the motorcycle. This BMW Motorrad/Alpinestars airbag jacket delivers global protection of the rider's body which includes the shoulders, back and front torso, embedding its sensors close to the driver's body without the airbag system activating a wireless trigger signal to be sent to the motorcycle.

The airbag system Tech-Air by Alpinestars, which forms the basis of its cooperation with BMW Motorrad, is the result of intensive research and development that began in 2001. For decades both companies have maintained a leading role in active and passive safety in the motorcycle industry , and this new collaboration between BMW Motorrad and Alpinestars is further extending their position through this joint development agreement.
