BMW Motorrad: 2300 tests recorded in the first weekend of The Boxer Season initiative

The BMW Motorrad season opens with The Boxer Season initiative, as many as 11 thousand enthusiasts have discovered the new engine from the propeller company which is equipped on: R1250GS, R1250GS Adventure and R1250RT, while 2300 have already tried it.

From a technical point of view, the boxer engine further improves response and overall performance. The new generation boasts a displacement of 1.254 cm3, the ratio between bore and stroke is now 102,5 to 76 mm and delivers a power of 100 kW (136 HP) at 7.750 rpm, with a maximum torque of 143 Nm at 6.250 rpm. With a 7 percent increase in displacement, the new boxer engine delivers 14 percent more torque and 9 percent more power than its predecessor, making it the most powerful BMW boxer engine ever produced in series production.

The boxer range will soon expand with the arrival on the market of the latest two new products unveiled at EICMA: the Roadster R 1250 R and the Sport-Tourer R 1250 RS.
