The tourer variant is also interesting R18 Classic, equipped with a large windscreen, additional LED headlights, 16-inch front wheel, passenger seat and soft bags. The bikes have three standard riding modes, opting between "Rain", "Roll" and "Rock" based on the rider's choice. There is also an excludable ASC (Automatic Stability Control) system, which increases driving safety and an engine drag torque control (MSR).

Among the new features, the new BMW R nineT models also stand out. A range made up of models RnineT, R nineT Pure, R nineT Scrambler e R nineT Urban G / S with advanced aesthetic and technological characteristics, considering the colours, systems and options. The heart of the new R nineT models is a 1.170 cc boxer, defined through interventions on technical and visual tuning, considering the EU-5 approval. Maximum power is 109 horsepower (80 kW) at 7.250 rpm, previously 110 horsepower (81 kW) at 7.750 rpm, while maximum torque remains 116 Nm at 6.000 rpm.

The 40th anniversary of GS

The 40th anniversary of GS was also remembered during the year. A story composed of many adventures and celebrated with one “GS 40 Years Edition” connected not only to the aforementioned R nineT Urban G/S in limited edition and distinguishable by the combination of black and yellow which recalls the R 100 GS coinciding with the 40th anniversary of GS. There are several renewed models.
For example, the new one is listed BMW G310GS, also in this case in the “40 Years GS” characterization, animated by a single-cylinder unit with EU-5 approval, automatic management of the idle increase and electronic accelerator. A 313cc liquid-cooled powerplant with four valves, dual overhead camshafts and electronic fuel injection. A particularly compact engine, taking into account a tilt of the cylinder towards the rear and the cylinder head turned 180 degrees with the intake at the front and the exhaust at the rear. Achieved a power of 34 horsepower (25 kW) at 9.500 rpm and a peak torque of 28 Nm at 7.500 rpm.

Also highlighted BMW F 750 GS, F 850 GS e F 850 GS Adventure, also in this case in the celebratory “40 Years GS Edition” guise, renewed taking into account the colours, the new LED directional indicators, a USB charging solution in the front right part of the instrument panel, ABS Pro and DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) systems ).
Among the options we refer to Pro mode, but also to dynamic engine braking control and Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), as well as other solutions connected to original BMW Motorrad accessories.
The engine is a 4 cc liquid-cooled 853-valve twin-cylinder engine, combined with a six-speed gearbox. A unit already in line with Euro 5 standards. Considering the BMW F 750 GS, 77 horsepower (57 kW) at 7.500 rpm and a torque of 83 Nm at 6.000 rpm are reached. While moving on to the BMW F 850 ​​GS and F 850 ​​GS Adventure, the peak power is 95 horsepower (70 kW) at 8.250 rpm and 92 Nm of torque at 6.250 rpm.
At the top of the overview are the advanced ones BMW R 1250 GS e R 1250 GS Adventure distinguishable by the new front LED light pattern and technological solutions such as a Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) functional for traction and driving safety and, remaining in the same scope, also a BMW Integral ABS Pro as standard. A braking device that also acts when the bike is inclined with an advanced approach considering ABS control and riding modes, as indicated. The new features also include a functional "Eco" driving mode for efficiency and optional Pro driving modes (Riding Mode Pro). The thrust is transmitted by a 1.254 cm³ twin-cylinder boxer engine with EU-5 approval and BMW ShiftCam technology linked to the variation of the timing and lift of the intake valves. Reported maximum power reaches 136 horsepower (100 kW).

Dynamism, sportiness and power

The group of renewed specimens also includes the BMW R 1250 RT, characterized by functional technical changes and updates. An example for two-wheel touring enthusiasts with a new front fairing and various technological solutions such as a new "Eco" mode, a DTC Dynamic Traction Control which reinforces driving safety with robust traction and also a new BMW Motorrad Full Integral ABS Pro. The 1.254 cc twin-cylinder boxer engine offers 136 horsepower (100 kW) at 7.750 rpm and 143 Nm at 6.250 rpm with EU5 approval.
Moving on to the Roadsters, the new compact G 310 R equipped with an EU-5 approved heart, it features LED headlights and, together with two basic colours, a "Sport" variant. The 313 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with four valves, two overhead camshafts and electronic injection, develops a power of 34 horsepower (25 kW) at 9.500 rpm with a peak torque of 28 Nm at 7.500 rpm minute.

The renewal is roaring BMW S 1000 R.. A muscular but also sleek and technological naked, with a frame and swingarm that are lighter and based on components from the S 1000 RR. In the Flex Frame the engine has a more load-bearing function with a reduced frame weight also considering a slim design. Overall, the weight reduction of the model amounts to 6,5 kg for 199 kg of weight (DIN) or 202 kg considering the Comfort and Dynamic packages. The aforementioned M package attenuates the figure by another 4,8 kg (2 kg with forged wheels / 3,7 kg with carbon fiber wheels), taking up the information. Together with a self-reinforcing slipper clutch, an engine drag torque control (MSR) is indicated as an option. The inline four-cylinder engine transmits 165 horsepower (121 kW) of power at 11.000 rpm, while the maximum torque of 114 Nm is offered at 9.250 rpm with at least 90 Nm of torque from 5.500 to 12.000 rpm and more than 80 Nm already from 3.000 rpm. Among the highlighted aspects also a lighter exhaust and the EU-5 regulation, as indicated.

Still talking about sportsmanship, the new one M 1000RR represents a maximization of dynamism on two wheels. Characteristic look, sophisticated technical solutions and a powerful heart. An inline four-cylinder engine that powers the S 1000 RR is redefined to convey a more decisive character based on a higher rpm and a curb weight of 192 kg, taking up the information. Power reaches 212 horsepower (156 kW) at 14.500 rpm and torque 113 Nm at 11.000 rpm. The maximum rotation speed can reach 15.100 rpm with an exhaust system made of titanium.

A future vision

Finally, a project that shifts attention forward. Definition CE 04 it turns out to be a translation almost close to the series of the idea linked to the BMW Motorrad Concept Link, with a symbiotic connection between movement and interaction considering urban commuters. An electric vehicle characterized by a recognizable and distinctive design, as well as connectivity systems. The aesthetic stands out, composed of clear and decisive lines, underlined by a surface finish in metallic Mineral White, then a matt black area that highlights the core of the vehicle. Together with the vehicle, interaction and peculiar technical clothing also stand out, keeping comfort, experience and safety in mind.
