Having entrusted the helm of Sports Director to Serafino Foti and appointed Gerardo Acocella to become the Technical Director, the BMW Motorrad Italia Superbike Team can venture into the competition, choosing to throw itself into it starting from the 2011 championship. The choice of BMW Motorrad, the company's motorcycle division car manufacturer from Munich, to enter the field in competitive competitions is even more profoundly inspired by the recent results obtained during 2010 in the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup category.

The BMW Motorrad Italia Superstock Team, in fact, during the first ten months, thanks to the spearhead of its team, Ayrton Badovini, dominated the championship, reaching the Constructors' Title and the Riders' Title with Badovini himself. Furthermore, precisely during 2010, BMW Motorrad obtained the first internationally recognized speed title in its entire history, thanks again to Badovini, who finally made his own the record of nine consecutive victories, previously also held by Neil Hodgson and Colin Edwards.

From the next championship, BMW Motorrad Italia Superbike Team will name James Toseland alongside Ayrton Badovini, in the hope of continuing the chain of successes started this year in the FIM Cup. The company will be supported by the motorcycle manufacturer BMW Motorrad, which will supply the team with electronics and engines for the season. And the BMW Motorrad Italia Superstock Team? For the year 2011, the role of official rider will pass to Lorenzo Zanetti, a young rider who has shown he has what it takes during the last edition of the FIM Cup.
