Five year contractual warranty

The warranty period for i has been extended to five years helmets BMW Motorrad purchased on departure from January 1 2020, as reported in a press release.

A legal guarantee period, therefore, longer than two years. Always referring to the indications communicated, this “covers material and manufacturing defects in the product”. It should also be noted that installed BMW Motorrad communication solutions are excluded from the extension of the BMW Motorrad warranty regarding helmets. In essence the guarantee is not applied expressly “if a defect or damage is caused by improper handling, an accident or incorrect installation of the system and accessories, including by a third party”. So too “scratches on the visor, sun visor, helmet shell or plastic parts are not covered by the manufacturer's warranty”, as highlighted.
The helmets from the BMW Motorrad range taken off from January 1 2020 will be covered by a contractual warranty period of five years, while those purchased before this date are limited to a warranty period of 24 months. This is applied to all helmets purchased from a dealer in the official BMW Motorrad network participating in the initiative, as specified.
