BMW M 1000 RR: a synthesis of sportiness [VIDEO]

A sleek profile

The example has a sporty and distinctive livery with a bright white /M Sport base combined with light blue, dark blue and red shades. Also noteworthy are the granite gray engine covers and the dark colored fuel filler cap.
An aerodynamic motorcycle with functional technical aspects, keeping in mind optimized load distribution. Among the connotative aspects are also the M fins associated with the set-up and developed in carbon with a transparent coating as a function of aerodynamic downforce and loads linked to speed. On the front wheel the increased load counteracts the wheelie effect, according to the information, favoring less adjustment of the traction control. A functional aspect for stability when braking and when cornering.
The frame is based on the aluminum one of the S 1000 RR, considering an aluminum bridge structure in the center. There is an upside down fork and a revised monoshock with blue spring and progressive Full Floater Pro kinematics. A scheme designed to intensify performance, taking into account anti-squat control, braking and handling.
M brakes are also worth mentioning, developed thanks to the knowledge acquired on the track with the racing systems. On the outside, the calipers are equipped with a blue anodized coating in combination with the M logo, the wheels are then made of M carbon.

Technology and performance

The instrumentation TFT da 6,5 inches presents a startup animation signed M. The driving modes vary between “Rain”, “Road”, “Dynamic”, “Race” and “Race Pro1-3”, also evaluating an updated Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and a DTC Wheelie function with six-axis sensor box.
Among the optional accessories, we highlight an activation code including the M Competition package for the provision of a data package when using the M GPS laptrigger and M GPS data logger accessories via the OBD interface.
In addition to a standard trim, the M Competition package includes elements related to aesthetics and innovative solutions. Together with a laptrigger M GPS software and the corresponding activation code, we highlight: a less heavy 220 gram silver swingarm; a passenger package with tail cover and an M Endurance chain; an M carbon package; a set of milled parts M.
The in-line four-cylinder engine linked to the S 1000 RR is redefined to offer a more decisive character at a higher rpm, taking into account a curb weight of 192 kg. The power touches 212 horses (156 kW) at 14.500 rpm with a torque peak of 113 Nm at 11.000 rpm.
