BMW M 1000 RR: two wheels and the grit of an M specimen [VIDEO]

An example BMW Motorrad and the iconic M. The M 1000RR it is an expression of power on two wheels with functional features that maximize performance.

Aerodynamics and performance

The aerodynamics are highlighted with a specific definition of the chassis and interventions regarding the geometries, together with a balanced distribution of the load. We think about speed and optimizing the contact of the wheels on the asphalt.
You can see the fins M associated with the set-up, studied and developed in the wind tunnel and during track tests. They are developed in carbon with a transparent coating based on aerodynamic downforce and speed-related loads. On the front wheel, the increased load counteracts the wheelie effect, favoring less adjustment of the traction control with benefits on performance, as reported. Their action is also functional when braking and when cornering, accentuating stability.
The chromatic appearance with a bright white base /M Sport is distinctive and sporty, combined with light blue, dark blue and red shades. Also distinctive are the granite gray engine covers and the dark colored fuel filler cap.
The frame is based on the aluminum one of the S 1000 RR, keeping in mind an aluminum bridge structure in the center. It features an upside down fork and a revised monoshock with blue spring and progressive Full Floater Pro kinematics. A scheme designed to maximize performance on the track and functional on the road, keeping in mind the focus on anti-squat control, braking and handling.
For the first time on a BMW two-wheeled model there are M brakes, created thanks to the knowledge acquired on the track with racing systems. On the outside, the calipers are equipped with a blue anodized coating in combination with the M logo. The wheels are made of M carbon.

Technological systems

The driving modes result “Rain”, “Road”, “Dynamic”, “Race” e “Race Pro1-3”, also considering an updated Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and function DTC Wheelie with six-axis sensor box.
Along with a standard set-up, the M Competition package includes elements linked to aesthetics and innovative solutions. In addition to an M GPS laptrigger software and the corresponding activation code, the package includes an M carbon package, a less heavy 220 gram silver swingarm, a set of M milled parts, a passenger package with tail cover and a chain M Endurance, as reported.
The instrumentation TFT da 6,5 inches includes the same basic setup as the S 1000 RR model with a start-up animation signed M. Among the optional accessories there is an activation code including the M Competition package for the provision of a data package when using the M GPS laptrigger accessories and M GPS data logger through OBD interface.
