In the near future - according to the Bavarian manufacturer BMW - the motorbikes in its range will also have a six-cylinder in-line engine: with the arrival of the BMW K 1600 GT and BMW K 1600 GTL, BMW Motorrad inaugurates a new dimension in the world of tourism.

For decades, in fact, engines with six-cylinder in-line architecture have fascinated with their technical originality: this geometry is balanced and offers sufficiently round operation, combining the correct distribution of power and torque and providing emotions also through sound.

Equipped with the most compact six-cylinder in-line engine – so to speak, 1,6 liters of displacement – ​​ever built for a production motorcycle to date, the BMW K 1600 GT and K 1600 GTL combine agility and riding dynamics with luxury features : both are driven by the 1.600 cubic centimeter unit which delivers a power of 160 HP at 7.500 rpm and a maximum torque of approximately 175 Nm at 5.000 rpm, approximately 70% of which is already available at 1.500 rpm .

The BMW K 1600 GT is equipped with xenon headlights, heated grips, speed regulation and on-board computer, while the BMW K 1600 GTL guarantees a relaxed riding position suitable for a straight posture, thanks to the two-level saddle combined with footrests for the driver positioned further forward and lower and with a longer handlebar. The standard equipment consists of xenon headlights, heated grips, speed regulation system and on-board computer.

The equipment is completed with the possibility of choosing between three driving modes - Rain, Road and Dynamic -, with ABS and DTC (Dynamic Traction Control), with the optional ESA II electronic suspension adjustment (Electronic Suspension Adjustment II), with the Adaptive Light Control system (adaptive headlights, optional), in combination with xenon headlights, with the integrated Multi-Controller operating concept, with TFT color screen and menu navigation, with the audio system with provision for navigation and iPod, USB and Bluetooth connectivity.
