BMW K 1600 Grand America, the "American dream" on display at Eicma 2017

BMW K 1600 Grand America - BMW Motorrad expands its range in the long-haul tourism segment with a model created specifically for traveling in maximum comfort. Eicma, in fact, was the chosen venue for the global presentation of the BMW K 1600 Grand America. Derived from the BMW K 1600 B, the new model combines the excellent performance of its six-cylinder engine with the comfort and equipment necessary to make it a travel two-wheeler both alone and as a couple - in perfect style with its American rivals.

The design of the BMW K 1600 Grand America is based precisely on this specific sector and compared to its cousin the K 1600 B it presents several new features. In addition to the elongated line and a redesigned rear end, another clearly recognizable feature is the teardrop-shaped silhouette of the front end, just below the windshield. The chromed rear silencers positioned parallel to the road are perfectly integrated into the elegant design of the entire bike. The comfortable backrest is also completely new and will support the passenger even on longer routes.

An additional stop gives even more personality to the rear and forms a splendid design with the brake lights and direction indicators. The lighting system is full LED.

The great power of the six-cylinder engine (redesigned to be more powerful and compact) is an essential feature if you want to reach certain goals. The engine delivers power of 160 HP at 7.750 rpm and maximum torque of 175 Nm at 5.250 rpm. The maximum speed is limited to 162 km/h.
