BMW: F 750 GS and F 850 ​​GS rewrite the boundaries of enduro

BMW confirms its "enduro" streak by presenting two very interesting innovations: BMW F 750 GS e BMW F 850 GS. These are two premium travel Enduros of medium displacement and with a strong character which complement the already wide range of vehicles from the German company in this specific segment of the market. Since their launch in 2007, the GS models of the F series represent maximum riding pleasure with the typical “Made by BMW Motorrad” features, bringing the Adventure concept among medium-sized motorcycles. After around ten years of constant model development, BMX Mmotorrad has now completely redesigned and redesigned its mid-size GS models, in line with its goal of creating the ultimate motorcycle, increasingly less complicated and maintenance-free, whatever use it is do it: sporting road trips, real journeys with luggage and passenger or adventurous trips on off-road terrain.

In detail, the F 750 GS is designed for all those motorcyclists who prefer the sensation and conceptual design of travel Enduro together with a reduced saddle height, excellent power availability, a high cost-benefit ratio and excellent overall qualities. Next to this is the new F 850 ​​GS, which in addition to offering greater power and torque, presents even more distinctive travel characteristics, combined with superior off-road capability.

The engine is a new and powerful inline twin with two balancer shafts and a firing interval of 270/450 degrees, for optimal operation and an exciting sound The main objective of the project was to increase both power and torque. The displacement is 853 cc with a power of 77 HP at 7.500 rpm for the F 750 GS and 95 HP at 8.250 rpm for the F 850 ​​GS. Furthermore, particular attention was paid to reducing consumption. Unwanted vibrations are absorbed by the two balancer shafts of the new engine. An anti-slipper and self-adjusting clutch requires only the application of light force, while the reduction of engine braking torque also increases driving safety. Power transmission to the rear wheel takes place via the 6-speed gearbox with secondary drive unit, now positioned on the left side.

The “Road” and “Rain” driving modes plus ABS and ASC fully guarantee the pleasure of driving and greater safety as standard, while the combination of ABS and the automatic stability control system ASC guarantees a high level of safety.

The bridge frame of the new GS models of the F series is made of welded deep-drawn components. It includes the in-line twin-cylinder engine as a co-supporting element and offers benefits in terms of torsional rigidity and robustness.
