In another brief study related to the new BMW EC 04 we also talk about clothing, described in the film proposed by BMW Motorrad on Youtube.

Technology and interaction

Ivana Cujic, Project Leader Connected Rider Gear, intervenes on the occasion, explaining the characteristics and solutions of the clothing presented together with the scooter. The vehicle is characterized by a frame made up of a tubular steel structure, therefore by a front telescopic fork with a diameter of 35 mm and a single-sided rear swing arm. The rear suspension part features a directly controlled and covered spring structure axle. The braking system consists of a double disc brake at the front and an additional single disc at the rear. Also indicated is a latest generation ABS Pro system, available as an option, acting via a banking sensor to control braking even when cornering.
The front tire is 120/70 R15 67H and the rear 160/60 R15 56H. The scooter is equipped with a liquid-cooled permanent magnet electric motor, arranged in the frame between the battery and the rear wheel. The nominal power is: 15 kW (20 horsepower) and the maximum reaches 31 kW (42 horsepower), sprinting from 0 to 50 km/h takes 2,6 seconds. For the reduced power class L3e-A1 a power of 11 kW (15 horsepower) or 23 kW (31 horsepower). In any case, the maximum speed amounts to 120 km/h, making it possible to go even outside the city.
The battery is a 60,6 Ah (8,9 kWh) lithium ion battery and according to the indications the autonomy is approximately 130 kilometres. In the case of a reduced power version the figure amounts to 100 km, as reported.

A distinctive design

The vehicle is defined by taut and profiled lines. Highlights of the headlight groups a LED and a large screen TFT intended for instrumentation from 10,25 inches, therefore a Light White finish which is associated with matt black sections in the front and side areas, as well as a distinctive "floating" saddle.
With the Avantgarde style (optional ex works) a metallic Magellan Gray color stands out, which is associated with a black/orange saddle, an orange deflector and various graphics.
The characterizing aspects also include solid wheels and an integrated side stand. Among the interesting aspects are also the side and front storage compartments, with a side compartment for the helmet operated when seated and the ventilated cell phone charging compartment with USB-C output. Three driving modes reported ("ECO", “Rain” e “Road”), in addition to the optional “Dynamic”.
