BMW C 400

Dynamism and comfort. The renewed scooters BMW C 400 e C 400 GT they are characterized by new colors and technically evolved.

Aesthetics and updates

The new BMW C 400 X and C 400 GT are distinguishable by a contemporary and refined design. There are three color variants linked to these medium-sized scooters. For the specimen C400X are indicated: Metallic Blackstorm, the optional Granite Gray metallic and a combination StyleSport (Blackstorm metallic/Racingblue metallic matt). Moving on to C 400 GT: a base paint Alpine White; the optional Kallisto Gray metallic and yet another variant Triple Black style (Blackstorm metallic with matte ribbons).

Among the new features, an optimized one stands out ASC (Automatic Stability Control). Compared to the previous manual recalibration, such as when changing tires, it should be noted that the new system is equipped with automatic calibration of the wheel spoke. The new ASC is designed for lower friction values. There is a more sensitive response and increased adjustment comfort on damp and slippery surfaces. Deactivating the ASC is also not necessary.
Functional for comfort also optimized compartment lighting storage under the seat bench, with an indicated volume of 31 litres, 45 liters with Flexcase. No longer a lateral beam, but a source from above that facilitates the lighting of the room. Together with a 12 volt on-board socket, then, the right front storage compartment is equipped with a USB charging socket.
The braking system has also been renewed with the adoption of new brake calipers linked to a double front disc with a firm pressure point and better roll-back of the brake pistons. There are also aligned lever movements for the rear brake on the left and for the front brake on the right.

The range of accessories is varied considering ergonomics, safety, interaction and transport, for example the new rear bags of the Black collection proposed in two sizes for short trips or longer journeys. Technical clothing items were also reported.

Motor

Among the factors highlighted is one “electronic throttle grip” (E-gas) and an electrically operated throttle, as well as a new powertrain management system. Also noteworthy are a modified matrix and coating of the catalyst, a broadband oxygen sensor, interventions on the cylinder head, a new sensor on the generator cover, an adapted wiring harness and a modified idle speed regulator.
The single-cylinder heart transmits 34 horses of power (25 kW) at 7.500 rpm and a torque of 35 Nm at 5.750 rpm. Unit linked to a gearbox CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), indicating a transmission with high torsional rigidity on the swingarm associated with a swingarm bearing system that attenuates vibrations. The approval is EU 5.
