Beta - The Motoclub Escuderia Castelo Branco hosted for the second consecutive year the FIM Enduro GP World Championship in the characteristic town of Castelo Branco in Portugal. Few changes have been made by the organizers compared to the last edition with the paddock and the Enduro Test and Cross Test special stages located in the same place as last season. Despite the lot of dust that characterized the entire race weekend, the spectacle was not lacking thanks also to the large presence of the public on Friday evening during the Super Test in which our driver Christophe Charlier achieved the third best time overall.

The trip proved to be extremely positive for the riders on board Beta who, on Sunday, won 3 categories out of the 4 available. Steve Holcombe (Beta Factory Team) dominated E3, Brad Freeman (Team Beta Boano) won the E1 e Matteo Cavallo (Team Beta Boano) climbed to the top step on both days – despite a spectacular crash on Saturday – in the Enduro Junior. Added to these four victories are two further category podiums on Day One with Steve Holcombe and Brad Freeman second in E3 and E1. Steve Holcombe in fact arrived in Portugal with some physical problems after a fall suffered in the previous GP in Santiago de Compostela in Spain and he raced on Day One without pushing too hard on the accelerator. While, on the following day, the British rider immediately established a high pace and, for almost the entire race, was in command of the Enduro GP but had to give up on the last special stage and thus settle for second place overall. In the provisional ranking Steve Holcombe now occupies first position in the E3 class and third in the Enduro GP. Weekend of ups and downs for Christopher Charlier. The Corsican rider was unable to conquer the E2 podium on day one, while on Sunday he ran a good race, staying in touch with the leaders in the Enduro GP and obtaining fourth place in the E2 class.

"On Saturday I made too many mistakes and I didn't trust myself to push in the fast sections, but on Sunday I immediately found a good rhythm and aimed to get the maximum – declared Steve Holcombe -. Unfortunately I lost first place on the last special stage but we will certainly do it again in Estonia". "Also in this GP I made some steps forward in terms of the feeling with my bike – added Christophe Charlier -. I'm partially happy with the times obtained in the special tests but now I have to manage to conquer a world podium which is within my reach".
