Benelli, the return to America is set for 2015

Benelli – In an interview with Bruno de Prato of Cycle World, Yan Haimei, CEO of Benelli, announced that the historic Italian brand will return to American territory.

Haimei said that Benelli will make its return to the USA by the end of 2015, although it is not yet clear with which models the Chinese-owned brand will land in North America. “Returning to a competitive and selective market like the American one, this requires us to refine and increase our efforts. It will require adding more customized templates and taking a look back at our history“, Haimei explained to Cycle World.

We can read these words however we want, but ultimately Benelli is focusing his budget and his motorcycle for beginners (with the BN251, BN302, BN 600, and BN600GT models) for the European and Asian markets, a considerable change from the sportier Tornadoes and TnT, by which the brand was best known in the United States. It remains to be seen whether Benelli simply wants to offer its current line of two-wheelers to Americans or whether the Italian brand will once again develop beautiful large-displacement street bikes for the USA.

We hope it will be the second choice Benelli, even if many are expecting the first. However we hope that the models will have fewer “gremlins” than what has previously been seen in the American market.
