Avinton GT, when the muscle bike speaks French

It is reborn from the ashes of the Wakan, it is unconventional, ready to be driven

A few years ago a small French manufacturer made its debut and proposed a small motorbike powered by a powerful twin-cylinder, basically an engine with the motorbike around it! The Wakan 1640. A V2 café racer that quickly caused a sensation, but unfortunately, just as quickly disappeared from the scene due to the company's financial problems. Now, it returns to the fore, but on the tank there is no longer the name Wakan, but the Avinton Motorcycle. It is called Avinton GT, and repeats the same unconventional design proposed to the public eye almost 10 years ago and the same bombastic mechanics, a "little muscle bike".

Two large 101 mm pistons pulsate in the large heart of the GT; a huge heart, air-cooled, with cylinders forming a 45° V and 1.640 cc produced by the stars and stripes factory S&S, which shakes and sucks the air/fuel mixture from a 41mm flat carburettor which, in turn, sucks air from an air intake with two butterfly valves, electronically controlled, placed on the fake tank: the sound at full acceleration is easily imaginable... The rest of the recipe is simple: 117 HP in 177 kg of weight, 168 Nm at 4.500 rpm and only 1380 mm wheelbase. A bike to ride. Incidentally, the fork is a 46 mm Ceriani, the rear mono is a Sachs, while the braking system is by Beringer (the double front disc is equipped with 6-piston calipers), and finally the list of prized names , the rims are forged Marchesini. The tank contains 13 liters and it was placed under the saddle in order to optimize weight and center of gravity. Ah, against recent trends, here there is no trace of electronics management or control. If we want, a tangible testimony of the poor electronic vein is the small dashboard with a cheap look and little information, integrated into the small fairing.

The new Avintons were born in "une petite ville" in the south of France, in Sommières. The factory's objective is to build 80/120 motorcycles a year; the Avinton will be produced in three trim levels, Race, GT and Roadster. There is a wide range of customization options: from color combinations, to the exhaust and even the driving position. It is logical that all of this has its counterpart in the price, set at a quota 33.900 €.
