The project

The courses are structured as training, in the classroom and in the field, to allow students to learn how to manage the vehicle in different conditions, when faced with sudden dangers, obstacles or on wet asphalt, for example. The approach with various types of road curves is foreseen to facilitate learning and evaluation of the correct speed.
I safe driving courses on board vehicles are organized by Master Driving, a company founded and directed by Maurizio Verini, Italian and European Rally champion and Marche world champion, who has been dealing with road safety for over 15 years.
I safe riding courses on scooters, however, are held with the support of Dott, who provides up to 25 scooters and a qualified instructor for the entire duration of the project. Dott, active in Italy since 2019 and in Milan and Monza since 2020, is an operator in the scooter and e-bike sharing sector and has long invested in training and safety.

The initiative, conceived and presented by the Municipality of Monza, ranked second in the ranking of projects selected by the Ministry of the Interior for the promotion, coordination and monitoring of prevention, experimentation and combating the phenomenon on the national territory of road accidents due to alcohol and drugs.
Also present on the first day of courses were the Monza and Brianza Traffic Police and the Monza Local Police, who carry out road checks, especially during the most sensitive time slots.
Starting from the early stages of the project, the Police Force increased the number of checks in order to prevent accidents. According to information, 586 drivers have been checked since April, of which 78 were new drivers. 409 alcohol pre-tests and 18 drug tests were carried out. The Councilor for Youth, Andreina Fumagalli, as well as the Councilor for Security, Ambrogio Moccia, also participated in the press conference.
Together with the Italian Red Cross, Carrobiolo 2000 Cooperativa Sociale, Promozione Umana Onlus and Itineraria Teatro, Autodromo Nazionale Monza is among the implementers of the project and will specifically provide space, over 6 days, for safe driving courses in cars and scooters at approximately 200 young people with the involvement of industry experts and the supervision of the racing driver and television presenter Davide Valsecchi, as reported.
