Arai RX-7V: technique and protection according to the specialist's experience

Helmet Arai RX-7V features a redefined shell in PB-SNC2, a VAS (Variable Axis System) visor system, Diffuser ventilation and Ecopure interior. The shape of the shell is also interesting, in compliance with the R75 Shape criterion, taking into account the possibility of sliding and bouncing on possible obstacles with functional absorption performance.

Features

The redefined cap, according to the criterion R75 Shape, is structured to be smoother and more resistant, allowing the helmet to slide over possible obstacles without risky rotations. A solution of VAS visor (Variable Axis System) then allows the opening mechanisms to be further lowered, with optimal absorption also in the temple area.
Also highlighted is the use of a new resin to intensify the cohesion between the fiber layers, also strengthening and lightening the shell by around 30 grams, according to the indications. Remaining on the visor, there is a renewed locking system that can be operated with a single intuitive movement, even while wearing gloves.
Moving on to ventilation, considering the central upper air intake, there is an increase of 11%, also mentioning a new opening/closing system. L'Air Channel it conveys the incoming flow from the temple area to the lateral ducts. They appear new diffuser 20 mm wider, also refined from an aerodynamic point of view, therefore more efficient with 19% more air entering the interior. L'Air wing it is manageable in five positions with attenuation of the buffeting effect at higher speeds, as indicated.
Among the characterizing aspects, together with the design of the shell, is the increased space (3 mm) in the chin area. The fabric interiors are washable using neutral soap and warm water and have been completely reshaped with greater comfort in mind. Possibly the points subjected to greatest stress are designed to flex or separate, without affecting the absorption qualities of the shell, always taking up the information. The closure system consists of a flat Double-D strap.

Security and proposal

Each Arai helmet is subjected to the Penetration test (except Freeway-2, Penta, Astro Light and VX-Pro Jr) which consists of testing the impact of a 3kg steel cone from a height of 3 meters on any area of ​​the cap above the SNELL Test line.
