Arai MX-V: an off-road helmet with a functional design

Helmet Arai MX-V, designed for enduro and off-road enthusiasts, represents an evolution of the VX-3 model. The anatomical setting of the shell is based on the R75 concept. Functional and performance forms.

The specialised farming model

For the outer shell there is one ScLc technology (Super complex Laminate construction) which is 40% more consistent than normal fibreglass, considering resistance to extension and bending. There are two layers of super fiber and an intermediate layer of special fiber, a very special material, a resistant and light chemical fiber exclusive to Arai, according to information.
There are diffusers that favor a Venturi effect on the back, with a central upper air intake to increase the air flow, then an air intake under the sun visor that channels the air into the helmet. Closing the air intake on the chin guard prevents the possible entry of debris. Also highlighted are adjustable ventilation, lower intakes arranged laterally and an air intake on the mouth placed from the outside to refine penetration resistance and protection against splashes is provided by the one-piece stainless steel mesh mask. The mask can be removed for cleaning, as indicated.

Moving on to the sun visor of Arai, channels air into the front ventilation holes to promote cooling and uses multiple exhaust ports to reduce the lift effect at speed. The elongated and rounded visor provides protection from dust and mud and the front and rear air intakes are removable to facilitate cleaning. Furthermore, the setting with lateral cuts at the level of the visor opening and raised air vents allows the glasses band to be fixed.
In the internal part of the covering Dry-Cool® entirely removable and washable, it has been developed and tested for competitions. It uses water microcells to improve the transfer of moisture and heat from the head to the airflow and dries rather quickly compared to normal fabrics.
Furthermore, to facilitate the fit and intensify the comfort of the jaw, the Facial Contour System (FCS) features a spring support in the cheek pads that compresses and creates a rebound effect, as indicated.
