Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory: new shapes that anticipate a strong character [VIDEO]Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory: new shapes that anticipate a strong character [VIDEO]

The new Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory represents the gritty side of the evolved Aprilia Tuono V4. Aesthetic features and indications linked to the concept are highlighted in the film proposed by Aprilia Official on Youtube.

Style and grit

Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory presents an interesting setup that includes a system of Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension, compared to the aforementioned trio of multi-adjustable Sachs mechanical suspensions of the Tuono V4. A motorbike in livery Aprilia Black, a combination of glossy black and red accents where the features of the aluminum frame also stand out. The model is equipped with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tyres, the rear one with a larger section of 200/55, approved and also available for the Tuono V4 example. The rims are 17 inches.
Aprilia Tuono V4 instead it is offered in colours Tarmac Grey (a combination of gray and black) e Glacier white (a dress where an opaque white stands out). A version oriented towards the sports tourer scene, but still with a pulsating character.

The aesthetics are refined by observing the sculpted points, the connotative and functional elements such as the fairing fixed to the frame. The double fairing is distinctive and functional. The air pressure directed between the walls optimizes stability at high speeds and maximizes rider comfort, taking into account the flows, as indicated.
Also distinctive are the triple LED front light cluster and the perimeter DRL daytime running lights. Through a twilight sensor, the dipped beam headlights are turned on automatically, while the automatic turn-off directional indicators flash in the event of emergency braking. Then considering a "bending lights" function, the pair of additional headlights in the parabolas illuminate the inside of the curve to support visibility.
We also highlight the adoption of a new tank with a different design and narrower laterally, favoring greater support and the capacity of 18,5 liters.
The Tuono V4 Factory is associated with a new seat placed at 825 millimeters more welcoming and extended and the aforementioned semi-active electronic suspensions, developed by Öhlins and fine-tuned with the collaboration of Aprilia engineers. It also facilitates the elimination of unnecessary elements for use on the track, such as mirrors, passenger footrests and license plate holders.

Technology and performance

The model is equipped with an aluminum frame and a new simplified three-element swingarm with the same construction technology as the frame and a lower reinforcing truss.
Among the aspects highlighted also theOBTi interface (Objective Based Tuning Interface) on one new 5-inch color TFT instrument cluster with Road or Track screens to which it is possible to combine an Aprilia MIA interaction solution (present among the accessories), therefore an advanced APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) active electronic control system, a package of control systems derived from racing, integrated with electronic management associated with the full Ride-by-Wire integrated throttle control and the six-axis inertial platform with great computing capabilities. Six Riding Modes mentioned, three of which are functional for use on the road (opting between Tour, Sport and the customizable User), while the other three are designed for use on the track (Race, Track 1 and Track 2), therefore a Cornering is reported ABS adjustable on three levels, developed in collaboration with Bosch and the ABS works with Aprilia's RLM (Rear Liftup Mitigation) system, which limits rear wheel lift during more intense braking.
Speaking of the Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory, the technology of the Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension system allows calibration (also customizable) of the fork and shock absorber with two modes of intervention on the units: semi-active mode and manual mode. They can be selected using the buttons on the handlebar. Three maps are mentioned for different suspension settings and adopt the semi-active contribution: A1, A2 e A3. While in manual mode the maps are highlighted M1, M2 e M3 with as many types of predefined calibrations without semi-active assistance.
The Öhlins steering damper is also electronically managed by the Smart EC 2.0 system and can be customised.
The braking system in any case includes a pair of Brembo M50 calipers with pads with a very high-performance friction coefficient, which can be combined with the pair of carbon air ducts, among the varied range of original Aprilia accessories. At the front there is a double floating disc solution with a diameter of 330 mm, while at the rear a 220 mm disc associated with a floating Brembo caliper with 2 isolated pistons

Thruster

The refined V4 engine di 1077 cc it is characterized by a distribution system with lighter cups than the springs combined with the valves and the maximum rotation speed is 300 rpm higher, going from 12.500 rpm to the current 12.800 rpm. The unit falls within the anti-pollution regulations Euro 5, considering a new exhaust system with ceramic matrix substrate catalyst, more robust, with lower thermal inertia and lighter weight than that present on the previous Tuono V4 1100 RR, as reported. Also highlighted is the introduction of a new Magneti Marelli ECU 11MP control unit which allows the connection of a greater number of elements with the management of more complex algorithms, in light of a greater number of pins and a four times faster calculation capacity. A power of 175 horses at 11.350 rpm and a torque peak of 121 Nm at 9.000 rpm.
