Aprilia Tuono 660: the new medium-displacement naked at MIMO 2021 [LIVE PHOTOS]

Event scheduled between 10 and 13 June

Aprilia tuono 660 figure among the specimens exhibited at MIMO Milan Monza Motor Show 2021, scheduled between 10 and 13nd June.

The motorcycle

The specimen can be seen in Corso Vittorio Emanuele II a Milano, flanked by a model in the Moto Guzzi V85 TT Centenary Livery.
The new sports naked from the Noale brand is characterized by an aerodynamic and compact aesthetic. The windshield, the double fairing and the sinuous profile converging towards a streamlined tail stand out. The model on display is covered in a Concept Black color, a black look with bright red details. Alternatively, the Iridium Gray (grey and red elements) and Acid Gold varieties are also available.
The bike also features a triple LED front light cluster with perimeter DRL daytime running lights. By adopting a six-axis inertial platform, proposed as an accessory, a "bending lights" function is also highlighted for increased visibility when leaning.
The setting promotes an integrated and decontracted posture based on the triangulation of the handlebars, saddle and footrests. The seat is placed at a height of 820 mm and the tank can hold 15 liters of fuel.
The instrument cluster on a color TFT screen features Road or Track screens and automatic day or night backlighting. Among the various accessories, there is also an Aprilia MIA multimedia platform for connectivity.
The management of the electronic settings can be done via a four-button control on the left electrical block, in addition to the quick ones to control cruise control and traction control.
They are five i Riding Modes with configuration of ABS, engine braking, traction control, wheelie control and other parameters, of which three can be used on the road (Commute, Dynamic and Individual) and two for track use (Challenge and Time Attack). The electronic solutions also include a multi-map Ride-by-Wire electronic accelerator and an APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) electronic control package.

Technique and engine

Frame and swingarm are made of die-cast aluminium. The bike has a chassis with dimensions that enhance its agility, taking into account a wheelbase of 1.370 millimetres, steering plates with different offset and the inclination of the steering head of 24,1°.
The frame is made up of two lateral beams bolted in the area of the steering head and in the area behind it, so the engine acts as a load-bearing element. The anchoring points to the propulsive heart are two, considering the three above RS 660.
It features an adjustable Kayaba fork with 41 mm upside-down legs and, depending on the lightness, the swingarm is pivoted into the engine. The braking system is made up of a pair of 320 mm diameter front steel discs with two radially mounted calipers and a radial master cylinder on the handlebars, both made by Brembo. Behind there is a 220 mm disc associated with a two-piston Brembo caliper. A multi-map ABS system is indicated, while a Cornering ABS solution is proposed as an accessory.
The engine is a 660 cc (659 cc) parallel twin-cylinder engine with Euro 5 approval.
The transmitted power reaches 95 horses at 10.500 rpm with the limiter moved up to the threshold of 11.500 rpm and a torque peak of 67 Nm at 8.500 rpm, of which 80% is available from 4.000 rpm, 90% reaching 6.250 rpm. A weakened version was also reported by 35 kW.
