Aprilia SX and RX 125: the renewed compacts with a lively temperament [PHOTO]

Motorbikes

The basis is shared but the character and nature differ, because the SX 125 it is a supermotard designed to be driven on the road and track; while the RX 125 it has a characterization that brings it closer to the off-road world.
The line of the renewed Aprilia SX 125 appears distinctive and the dynamism supported by a renewed engine. Features spoked wheels 17 inches with wide channel and sports tires (100/80-17″ and 130/70-17″).

The Aprilia RX 125, aimed at lovers of off-road routes, is equipped with black anodized rims with spokes of different sizes: 21 inches in front and 18 inches behind. Typical dimensions for off-roading with knobby tyres.

Aesthetics

A style connected to their character. Highlighted are the double-section aluminum handlebars, frame, swingarm, engine and rims painted in glossy black. The profile of the seven-litre tank is new as is the color version Tribute Rally distinguishable from the shades traditionally used by Aprilia in the off-road world. Under the saddle there is a compartment where it is possible to place a USB socket which is included among the accessories.

The specialised farming model SX 125 it also wears a bold color Red Raceway and the characterizing one SilverSpeedway, then Aprilia RX 125 is proposed in the livery SilverSpeedway and in the aforementioned graphic variant Tribute Rally.

Both are equipped with digital and compact instrumentation. The multifunction digital dashboard also includes a travel diary, being able to display maximum speed and two partial odometers.

Technology

The double steel beam frame and the oversized suspensions define a functional chassis for the dynamism of the models, considering an upside down telescopic fork for 41 millimeters with wheel travel of 240 mm. Behind there is an extended swingarm that optimizes traction with a mono-shock characterized by progressive leverage for a travel of 210 mm. On the left the saddle is placed at 880 mm, while on RX a 905 mm.

The advanced suspensions and a high-level braking system with ABS, as reported, support efficiency and safety. The brand is the first to introduce the system in this segment Bosch ABS with anti roll-over on the front wheel, increasing braking control and management of rear wheel lifting in the event of more intense braking. On the SX example there is a front disc from 300 mm associated with a dual-piston floating caliper, then another rear from 220 mm always accompanied by a floating caliper. While on RX there are two wave discs from 260 mm and 220 mm front and rear respectively. A curb weight with a full tank is indicated 134 Kg.

Thruster

The models are powered by a new single-cylinder engine from 124,2 cc with four-valve distribution, liquid cooling and equipped with a redefined combustion chamber head, with new iridium spark plug and new intake and exhaust ducts. According to the information, the throttle body is now present higher up and the cam axles with higher performance lift laws, the bowls and the valve springs are new, therefore the entire intake line has been reconfigured with a new intake filter air.

Through electronic management refined through a new Marelli MIUG4 control unit, there is a more robust torque curve and maximum power delivered at a lower rpm to the advantage of efficiency. Generated a maximum power of 11 kW at 10.000 rpm, while the torque peak is 11,2 Nm at 8.000 rpm.
