Aprilia: different forms of sportiness even beyond the asphaltAprilia: different forms of sportiness even beyond the asphalt

Strong shapes with lively engines. You can recognize the sporty character of Aprilia by looking at the "urban adventure" scooter SRGT, RS 660 Limited Edition e Thunder 660 Factory, then the Tuaregs 660.

Aprilia SRGT

A scooter designed for riding in urban environments and beyond, with solutions that recall the world of enduro. It is a new example of the overview Aprilia Urban Mobility with aesthetic elements which, together with the typical sportiness of Aprilia, refer to the off-road world, given a wide motorcycle-style handlebar, long-travel suspension and a pronounced ground clearance to which should be added generous section tires with "all-terrain" tread.
The headlights are full LED with three elements, a suspended windshield stands out at the top with the aforementioned naked-style handlebar and a die-cast aluminum riser on which the Aprilia logo appears stands out. The handlebar controls are also of motorcycle origin. Furthermore, the instrumentation is digital on an LCD screen with various information that can be called up via the MODE button,
The riding position is less rearward and more recessed than a compact GT scooter, being able to also assume a more forward and relaxed position. There is also an ergonomic footboard which on the outside seems to recall the protective plates of off-road motorbikes.

Together with the Aprilia SR GT there is also a Sport trim characterized by sportier graphics and finishes. The Aprilia SR GT can be dressed in the Aprilia Black, Street Gray and Infinity Blue colours, all with silver grey-coloured footrests, sides and passenger handles. The saddle is black with gray stitching and black rims.
The Sport variant evokes the liveries of sports bikes with satin Street Gold, Iridium Gray and Red Raceway colors associated with a two-tone black and gray saddle with red stitching and red colored rims. On the sides of the shield you can see the large "a" for Aprilia, the central tunnel and the sides are in matt black, the passenger handles match the vehicle and the Aprilia writing appears on the silver gray footpegs.
The 25-litre underseat compartment can accommodate a full-face helmet, but accessories are also available to enhance the scooter's load capacity, including a spacious 33-litre aluminum top case. The tank has a capacity of 9 liters and approximately 350 km of autonomy is expected. The weight is 144 kg with a full tank, which becomes 148 kg if you opt for the 200 model.
The versions feature propulsion units from the i-get family with electronic injection with four-valve distribution and liquid cooling and are Euro 5 approved.
Together with the i-get single-cylinder engine 125 cc, a new single-cylinder makes its debut on the Aprilia SR GT 200 model 174 cc. The maximum power of the most compact unit is equal to 11 kW at 8.750 rpm with a torque peak of 12 Nm at 6.500 rpm. The power of the unit present on 200 model reaches i 13 kW at 8.500 rpm with a peak torque of 16,5 Nm at 7.000 rpm.

Aprilia RS660 Limited Edition

Thinking back to the success in the 2021 edition of the Twins Cup, the US series featuring medium-displacement twin-cylinder machines in MotoAmerica, a special numbered edition of the RS 660 specimen was introduced. In total 1.500 unit characterized by a livery that recalls the colors of the US flag. A look derived from the graphics seen in the Vallelunga race on the bike of the Twins Cup champion, Kaleb De Keyrel, invited to participate in the last stage of the Aprilia RS 660 Trophy as a reward for his triumph on American soil.
The motorbike is characterized by a shield located on the tank which indicates the numbering and the limited edition.

An oversized front fairing and software that allows you to set the quick shift gearbox in reverse configuration are highlighted. According to needs, this element can be configured independently without replacing any element, in the road or inverted type, making it practical for example for driving on the track during a track day event.
The bike, as reported, includes some of the "racing" contents of the competition version and the sporty character is underlined in particular by a single-seater tail cover, highlighting the development of the rear area. The passenger seat is supplied as an accessory, maintaining the two-seater approval.

Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory

A bold specimen with livery Factory Dark and a functional weight/power ratio. This twin-cylinder naked bike can also be distinguished by a black and red single-seater tail, associated as standard with the saddle and passenger footrests. These, like those of the rider, are the same as the lighter weight Aprilia RS 660.
APRC electronic controls with Ride-by-Wire electronic accelerator and a six-axis inertial platform are highlighted. The presence of an inertial platform also made possible the use of a "bending lights" function with additional headlights linked to the LED front light unit with perimeter DRL signatures. A multi-map Cornering ABS solution is also indicated which is contained in weight and dimensions, refining braking and ABS intervention when cornering with a specific algorithm and five customizable Riding Modes, of which three can be used on the road and two on the track.

The weight/power ratio is refined with the use of a low-weight lithium battery for an overall decrease of approximately 2 kg, for a curb weight of 181 kg given the increased engine performance.
The specimen is equipped with suspensions suitable for sporting use, considering a Kayaba fork with 41 mm stanchions adjustable in hydraulics in compression and rebound and in spring preload, together with a Sachs shock absorber with separate reservoir which is adjustable in rebound, compression and in the spring preload.
The engine is a 660 cc forward-facing twin-cylinder with double overhead camshaft distribution and four valves per cylinder which is load-bearing and houses the aluminum swingarm in the rear part.
The maximum power rises from 95 horsepower of a Tuono 660 to 100 horses on this model at 10.500 rpm. The maximum torque remains at altitude 67 Nm at 8.500 rpm.

Aprilia Tuareg 660

Another recent innovation from the brand characterized by a slim and technological appearance, as well as a chassis designed to venture on multiple surfaces.
The design is the result of the work carried out by the PADC (Piaggio Advanced Design Center) of the Piaggio Group in Pasadena, California, and recalls Adventure-type motorbikes with distinctive details such as the minimalist full LED headlights with perimeter DRLs and the double fairing that acts as aerodynamic appendage. The color variants are Acid Gold, Martian Red e Indigo Tagelmust, this recalls the appearance of the 600 Tuareg Wind 1988.

The bike is 2.220 mm long, 965 mm wide and the wheelbase extends to 1.525 mm. The saddle is placed at 860 mm with a resized crotch arch, favoring the support of the feet on the ground. The development of the contact area with the tank is also indicative, given a capacity of 18 litres, just as the curb weight of 204 kg is interesting.
Various technical and technological solutions define a versatile example which is associated with a 659 cc (660) forward-facing parallel twin-cylinder propulsion unit derived from the front bank of the 4 cc V1100 with Euro 5 approval.
The power reaches a peak of 80 horses at 9.250 rpm with a torque of 70 Nm at 6.500 rpm. There is also a variant that can be weakened a 35 kW.
