Aprilia arrives in the world of four wheels and does so in a unique way thanks to the work of the sector aprilia-racing which confirms itself as a technological platform of absolute excellence within the Piaggio Group, transferring its skills and providing performance also in the automotive sector.

In the version specially developed by the Noale racing department for use in four-wheel competitions, the extraordinary engine Aprilia V4 1000 cc that equips the super sports car Aprilia RSV4 was chosen by the manufacturer Wolf Racing Cars. The engine will be installed on the Wolf GB08 Thunder, the single-seater sports cars that will give life to the Italian Sports Prototype Championship 2018. The 65° V four-cylinder engine that contributed to making the Aprilia RSV4 one of the most successful bikes in the history of Superbike, also writing an exceptional history in the production product sector, lends itself well to automotive applications thanks to its exclusive configuration , with the angle between the banks of 65°, a solution identified by the Aprilia Research and Development department as ideal for enhancing the dynamic qualities of the vehicle. Extremely compact and light, credited with a maximum power of 201 HP, the Aprilia V4 contributes to making the Wolf GB08 Thunder an agile and high-performance car, with a very favorable cost/performance ratio.

The history of this engine, which has allowed the mass-produced product to dominate in the comparative tests of the specialized press around the world, is full of sporting successes: in fact, no less than seven world championship titles have been won in the Superbike World Championship (four Manufacturers' World Championships and three Drivers in five seasons), with the further double seal - in the 2015 season - of the victory of the Drivers' and Manufacturers' titles in FIM CUP Superstock 1000. An engine which, in the pneumatic valve version, has even come to compete in the MotoGP World Championship. The Italian Sports Prototype Championship - a series which has become a single-brand series following the five-year exclusive supply agreement between Wolf Racing Cars and the promoters of ACI Sports – this year consists of six events, the first of which will be held on April 22nd at the Autodromo di Adria.
