The new Husqvarna 900 twin-cylinder enduro will be born from the Italian-German collaboration. The maxi twin-cylinder will be built by Husqvarna under the watchful and competent eye of BMW's German engineers. BMW Motorrad vice president Hermanna Bohrer revealed some details about the new enduro the partnership between the two companies was revealed: “A Husqvarna maxi enduro that combines German technology with Italian design will debut in Milan. It will have a twin-cylinder engine and an agile and light chassis”, these are the words of Bohrer.

Italian design, created by Raffaele Zaccagninin, who is responsible for the design of the Aprilia cross bikes, and German engine. The new maxi enduro will be powered by the BMW F 800 GS engine, increased to 900 cubic centimetres. Therefore, the road enduro sector will soon be enriched by a new protagonist. Rumors indicate the possibility that at least two versions will arrive: a motorcycle with an offroad vocation (21" front rim) and a Supermoto model (with 17" rims).

Ready to be presented to the public by 2011, the twin-cylinder Husqvarna 900 represents BMW's attempt to counter the competition from KTM in off-road racing. The goal of the German company will be to position this new enduro on the same target as the KTM motorcycles, perhaps pushing the price down compared to the Austrian company.
