2020 will be a difficult year for the global economy and also the two-wheel sector, as told by the president of Confindustria ANCMA (National Association of Cycle and Motorcycle Accessories) Paul Magri (here the details), will suffer huge losses.

At the same time, however, new scenarios and opportunities are opening up, in particular mobility on two wheels can transform into a valid alternative to the use of public transport, given the necessary social distancing, but also to 4 wheels. This is where the idea of ANCMA e EICMA to promote the "Use two wheels" campaign.

Statements Paolo Magri president of Confindustria ANCMA on "Use two wheels"

“The two-wheel industry rallies around a single message, use two wheels.” President said Magri in a streaming conference, and then added: “The entire supply chain works as a system and sends a message to face phase 2 with the use of two wheels which guarantee social distancing, less pollution and rapid travel. The two wheels were a collective symbol of the post-war restart and, with the right proportions, they could be so once again today. Ours is not only an initiative to protect a sector seriously affected by the lockdown and for which we continue to ask the Government for urgent forms of purchase incentives, but it is a communication aimed at owners and, above all, potential users or simply to citizens who just need to remove dust from an unused bike or motorbike in the garage. At this moment it is impossible to make predictions about incentives. I believe that the government is doing everything it can to restart the economy which has stopped somewhat for everyone. But at the moment it seems that we want to support industries more than purchasing through incentives."

During the conference I spoke briefly about EICMA 2020 which, remember, currently remains confirmed except for the defections of BMW and KTM: “We are working on EICMA 2020 and I find the defections of BMW and KTM premature. We work to make a beautiful edition, obviously with all the uncertainties involved. We obviously remain ready for all scenarios. In Germany all trade fairs have been blocked and therefore we are not very optimistic. But we always remain ready. We are working on a plan B by exploring the possibilities of digital, but not only.
