Tests of the new traffic barrier entirely designed by a team of engineers from Anas (FS Italiane Group) took place on 12 February in Bollate. The objective of the new barrier, in addition to ensuring maximum safety for passengers of light vehicles and the containment of heavy vehicles on the road, is also to avoid serious damage to motorcyclists through the introduction of a motorcyclist safety device (DSM) which, in the event of an impact, avoids direct contact with the posts and the sharp edges of the blade.

The barrier has been designed and developed to resist and cushion impacts even with heavy vehicles, but the particular 'continuous' structure makes it a real lifesaver for motorcyclists. The CEO of Anas, Massimo Simonini said: “thanks to the technological innovation produced by Anas engineers this progress was possible. The new traffic barrier to save motorcyclists will allow Anas to further raise safety standards on its roads".

Various tests were carried out including, as can be seen in the video, all those preparatory to obtaining the CE marking and all of which were successfully passed. Also given its small size, the new barrier can be installed in many more streets than today.
