An autonomous system
At the Consumer Electronics Show 2020 it appears for Alpinestars the innovative airbag system Tech-Air® 5. A vest characterized by a snug and autonomous design, designed to be worn under another garment. A functional idea for the safety of motorcyclists, highlighted at the event Las Vegas scheduled from 7 al 10st January.
Features
Taking up the relevant indications, Alpinestars Tech-Air® 5 it is a thin and independent type airbag vest, as mentioned, which can be worn under any adaptable fabric jacket or in any case a garment compatible with Tech-Air® or a leather jacket with 4 cm of space around the circumference of the chest. Among the interesting aspects, we note the presence of six sensors (three of the gyroscopic type and three other accelerometers) which characterize the active electronic system, constantly focused on the pilot's position and the current acceleration. In the event of an impact, absorption is expected to be such as to attenuate the impact force of the 93% compared to a passive solution, while the maximum inflation time of the airbag amounts to up to 40 ms, always following the directions.
This system is designed to protect the upper part of the body, embracing the shoulders and chest, thus protecting the back and also the ribs. Furthermore, an integrated Bluetooth connectivity associated with one is highlighted Tech-Air® App and an LED display that certifies the status of the device, with an autonomy of 30 hours tied to a rechargeable lithium ion battery, as reported.
