Alpinestars focuses on Airbags at EICMA 2018 [INTERVIEW]

EICMA 2018 doesn't just mean motorcycles, but also the whole universe that revolves around it, including safety. To talk about safety, one of the best places is certainly the Alpinestars stand, which on the occasion of the Milan Exhibition presents all the jackets that can be combined with internal airbags.

To clarify this world, we spoke with Gordon Casteller, Media Services of AlpinestarsAndes, who presented us with the entire range, with a few small anecdotes.

“It's now a reality, we are present with a stand dedicated just to this. It is a compatible vest that can be applied to compatible garments and can be customized according to different needs. We started from track products to cover almost all needs. The latest news comes from different leaders. We start from the 24Ride, which is an urban jacket that almost looks like a sweatshirt but with all CE certifications and which is compatible with the Take-Air Race. As well as the Charlie Tech-Air, the first vintage jacket compatible with the system. And for the women's world we have the Andes PRO, a touring jacket.

Marquez has changed his riding style also thanks to the protections, but what are the big advantages?
“The system covers the entire upper body, and pilots benefit from it. The extreme case is that of Marquez, who in the testing phases is already prepared for a fall, because he knows that he is protected for any impact. He transformed safety into a tool to go faster."
