Goodbye to Simoncelli: he dies in Malaysia after a fall

Very sad Sunday for Italian sport and for anyone who has had the opportunity at least once to be interested in the world of motorbikes. Marco Simoncelli this morning, when it was almost 11 in Italy, he left us forever. The rider, a great two-wheel champion, died during the MotoGP in Malaysia. A fall was fatal for him on the second lap of the Grand Prix, when his motorbike slipped on the asphalt, throwing him to the ground. In the impact Sic, as his fans call him, lost his helmet and his colleagues who were coming from behind, in particular Edwards and Valentino Rossi, were unable to avoid him, hitting him with their bikes. From the first moments the situation immediately appeared very serious, and after a few minutes the rescuers found themselves faced with the motionless and lifeless body of Simoncelli.

Only a few moments for the feared drama to become a tragic reality. The rescue efforts were useless, while in the paddock, in the stands and around the track the news that no one wanted to hear took on more and more form. Amid everyone's shock, disbelief and excruciating pain, we learned the news that Marco Simoncelli's heart had stopped beating. The smile of the 24-year-old driver fades between the bends of the Sepang circuit. The news ricochets around the world, throwing sportspeople, fans and others into despair. We mourn the passing of a cheerful boy who enjoyed riding his motorbike fast and who tragically passed away too soon doing what he liked best.
