Accidents, ASAPS Observatory: unfortunately in the first weekend of August more victims among motorcyclists

Severe, dangerous hemorrhage appears. The indications of theASAPS Observatory on the fatal accidents in which motorcyclists were involved in the first weekend of August, once again make us reflect. The balance reported is once again heavy and dramatic: 22 cases and unfortunately 25 victims.

New cases

Recently, on the national news pages, the tragic impact that occurred in the Bergamo area emerged in which two young people traveling on a scooter lost their lives. After an initial accusation of double voluntary homicide aimed at a 33-year-old man present in a car and involved in the crime, following the interrogation to validate the arrest before the Judge for preliminary investigations, house arrest was granted , as it transpired, so the accusation was “declassified” to aggravated vehicular homicide.
One case among several recently reported in the Lombardy region alone, but numerous are those highlighted byASAPS Observatory referring to the first weekend of this month, in a dramatic sequence that deserves close attention.
Between 2 and August 4th stand out 25 victims, also considering the passengers, in fact 22 accidents in which motorcyclists were involved. A number that could also increase, as specified, unfortunately considering other motorcyclists in serious conditions.
A figure branded as "intolerable" in the document released by ASAPS on the issue, considering that these 25 victims represent a “new sad mortality record among bikers on weekends in 2019 to date”, is highlighted again.
“Allow us to be scandalized by such an absurd silence on this massacre which has thrown hundreds of families into mourning in this summer to forget”, the reaction ofASAP faced with these new data. Attention is also drawn to the "economic damage" linked to these losses. Human mourning, social mourning, real mourning; in short, it is better to avoid new tears. Respecting the rules and paying maximum attention every time you travel on the road is equivalent to protecting your own life and that of others.
