Moto Morini Scrambler 1200 arrives at EICMA: the right mix of tradition and innovation

Moto Morini – Tradition and innovation blend perfectly in the new one Moto Morini Scrambler 1200 which will be presented to EICMA. Compared to past versions, this is a completely redesigned motorcycle. Starting from the chassis up to the engine and the exterior appearance. But the nature of an unstoppable motorcycle outside the classic boundaries has remained intact. It is the third model of the new 2018 range next to Corsair ZZ and to the new one Milano and with these it shares the choices made in the name of Made in Italy which concerns not only the assembly - carried out entirely by Morini technicians in the Trivolzio (PV) factory - but also the materials and components chosen.

The new 1200 is inspired by the on/off motorcycles of the Seventies and is characterized by pure scrambler style as demonstrated by the extensive use of aluminum, the one-piece saddle, the high handlebars and the 17" spoked wheels with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires (debuting in this measure). Tradition yes, but one that looks to the future, as emerges from some details, such as the saddle that points upwards, the particularly long side panels and the digital instrumentation with 5" screen.

The technical choices revolve around the completely revised steel trellis frame, as well as the trellis rear swingarm which helps to lighten the overall weight of the bike. The fork is adjustable for compression, rebound and load and has DLC-coated stanchions (Diamond Like Carbon), a carbon-based treatment that increases smoothness and gives a particular charm.

The engine is an 87° V-twin designed by Moto Morini itself: the twin-cam 1200 CorsaCorta Euro 4 capable of delivering 110 HP of power, but above all a completely new pair thanks to the refined electronics. All enhanced by a majestic voice given by the new collectors.
