Also presented was the Concept Kx, a motorcycle of the future inspired by the Model KX of the 30s

Last September Royal Enfield launched the Interceptor INT 650 and the Continental GT 650 with a presentation in California, now, taking advantage of the EICMA 2018 showcase, the Indian company launches the two models on the European market.

Both bikes are powered by the same 650cc air-cooled engine producing 47PS and also share a chassis developed at the brand's UK technology center in collaboration with legendary motorcycle sports chassis builder Harris Performance.

The Continental GT 650 tries to attract sporty motorcyclists thanks to its design, characterized by a sculpted tank, and for some particularities, such as: the clip-on race handlebar. The price starts, for Italy, from 6400 Euros for the Standard / Ice Queen up to 6900 Euros for the Chrome / Mister Clean.

The Interceptor INT 650 follows a more classic style, taking up the style of the Royal Enfield twins of the 60s, with several features typical of the scramblers of that period. Retail prices in Italy start from 6200 Euros for the Standard / Orange Crush version, up to 6700 Euros for the Chrome / Glitter & Dust version.

Starting in January 2019, the Interceptor INT 650 and Continental GT 650 will be available for test rides at European dealerships. Reservations and requests will be possible starting from mid-November.

Siddhartha Lal, CEO of Royal Enfield said: “The Twins represent the perfect blend of tradition and modernity, and mark the beginning of a new chapter for Royal Enfield. This is our first product line globally and can play a strategic role in engaging new Royal Enfield owners across the world. We are extremely happy to make them available to our enthusiasts and strongly believe that the 650 twins are attractive and attractive models for European customers”

During EICMA 2018, the "Concept Kx" was also presented, a motorcycle developed in just six months and inspired by Royal Enfield's original Model KX from the late 30s. Design started only last April starting from the V-Twin engine. The idea of the “blade” fork is interesting.

Speaking about the new Concept Kx model, Mark Wells, Global Head for Product Strategy & Industrial Design, said: “The 1938 Model Kx is the perfect motorcycle to reinterpret our history and bring a new creative twist to the brand with our design and development capabilities. The Concept Kx 2019 is a perfect combination of innovative technology and traditional craftsmanship. This is, in a sense, a 'flight of fancy' for motorcycle designers and has allowed this team to bring their creative and experimental skills to bear in terms of design."

Concept Kx will never be mass produced, but could be used in the future as inspiration for upcoming models.
