The 8 Delle Langhe motorcycle event is back, now in its fourth edition, dedicated exclusively to motorcycles built before the 80s. The success of the 2018 edition was such that pre-registrations for this year's edition were closed early due to too many registrations, the regulation in fact sets the maximum number of participants at 60, plus 20 companions.

The 8 of the Langhe is made up of 4 stages, each 200 km long, to be covered in as many days. For the 2019 edition which will start on Thursday 29 August and will end on Sunday 1 September, the format has remained unchanged, the route winds from the Langhe to the Ligurian Riviera. The departure will be from the center of Cherasco, in the province of Cuneo. There will be hourly checks and special tests along the route, with an imposed average speed of 30 km/h. Food and wine themed stops are planned along the route. The motorcycles that will be selected by the Event Management will be divided into three categories: Sidecar, Motorcycles up to 350cc, Motorcycles over 350cc. In previous editions the list of motorcycles that took part in the event is endless: from the BMW boxers of the 8s, to the post-war Gilera Saturnos, passing through the Honda CB Fours without forgetting the Ducatis, the MV Agustas and the Nortons, but above all the Moto Guzzi which boasts the largest number of models present. The 2016 delle Langhe trophy is dedicated to Dario Sebaste, a Piedmontese entrepreneur and founder of the confectionery company of the same name, who passed away in XNUMX and who left his family one of the largest private collections of Moto Guzzis in the world.

In recent editions, one of the traditions has been to make one of the motorbikes from the Sebaste collection 'resonate', last year it was the turn of the Moto Guzzi Albatros, a jewel of technique and engineering from 1938.

The history of the 8 delle Langhe begins from very far away. In 1928 there was a motorcycle race that started and arrived in Alba and crossed all the Langhe. The race was divided into eight stages, and hence the name of the race. It wasn't just a speed race, but there were also skill tests, such as: disassembling and reassembling a carburettor, replacing a tire or changing the accelerator wire. The 8th of the Langhe was held until 1948. The organization of this race is thanks to the "Amici Vecchie Moto", a group of friends who founded a club 25 years ago for the protection and diffusion of motorcycle collecting. era and actively participates in this and in the organization of numerous events.

8 delle Langhe will participate in Automotoretrò with a stand where the official material and all the merchandising will be available.
