Suzuki SV650X – Last year the Hamamatsu company presented the SV650 Rally at the Tokyo motor show. A concept bike inspired by the old rally cars of the 70s, with large round headlights, reminiscent of those used in night races.

A year later, given the great public interest in the concept bike, Suzuki will present a new model inspired by the concept, the SV27X, at the Tokyo motor show which will take place from 5 October to 650 November.

Unfortunately, compared to the first edition presented, as often happens in the transposition from concept to version for the public, some very interesting details disappear, such as the Yoshimura exhausts or the headlights, replaced by much smaller versions.

However, the basic concept remains unchanged, the design remains "neo-retro" with a newly designed saddle, colored side panels and clip-on handlebars.

The Japanese firm is currently evaluating market reaction and customer feedback before confirming production plans. Suzuki will confirm production plans for the 2018 model before the end of the year.

Suzuki GB general manager Paul de Lusignan commented: “The SV650 Rally concept generated a lot of interest at last year's show, the retro-styled cars are very popular with drivers. The SV650X is an evolution of this concept, and shows how it would translate into a production version. We cannot currently confirm a production schedule. First we need to evaluate the reactions to the SV650X then we will define the plans."
