Its engine derives directly from that of the legendary GSX-R1000 produced between 2005 and 2008, a motorcycle that marked an era in the supersport universe. Hamamatsu technicians have recently updated this four-cylinder, creating windows between the cylinders, in the upper part of the crankcase. In this way it was possible to make the output at low and medium speeds more robust, while at the same time increasing the maximum power up to 110 kW (149,6 hp). All with an improvement in efficiency and in compliance with the strict limits of the Euro 4 regulation. The GSX-S1000F also has an anti-hopping clutch, which limits the reactions of the rear axle when downshifting, to the benefit of effectiveness in sporty driving and cleanliness when entering curves.

All 1000 GSX-R2018s purchased between now and July 31st will be exceptionally equipped with the bi-directional electronic shifter. This blipper is normally standard only on the more refined GSX-R1000R version while on the standard one it is available on request for 780 Euros. This is therefore the customer advantage obtained in this period, while on the road and on the track the benefit translates into the possibility of changing gear without using the clutch or closing the throttle. Driving thus becomes more incisive and fun for the driver, who can more easily exploit the incredible potential of the Hamamatsu super sports car. The GSX-R1000 is a motorcycle capable of exalting the most demanding riders and capable of astonishing performance, as its numerous victories in series derivative races show. The engine delivers an impressive 148,5 kW (202 hp), but without sacrificing the proverbial progression, brilliant right from low revs, thanks above all to the variable valve timing SR-VVT also used by the official GSX-RR in MotoGP. Three riding modes and the Motion Track TCS electronic traction control adjustable to 10 levels, combined with the compact dimensions of the frame, allow the GSX-R1000 to immediately instill confidence and security in any motorcyclist.
