An unmissable event for all lovers of Suzuki. The Belgian circuit of Zolder will host the first from 6 to 8 July European GSX-R Meeting, a large continental gathering dedicated to fans of the super sports car from Hamamatsu.

European GSX-R Meeting: what it is

This is the first official European meeting dedicated to the GSX-R and its many enthusiasts. The event will take place in Zolder, Belgium, on the occasion of the fourth round of the Internationale Deutsche Motorradmeisterschaft 2018, the German IDM superbike championship, and will also be an opportunity to celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the market launch of the GSX-R. The event will have as guest of honor Kevin schwantz, the legendary 500 1993 Class World Champion and Suzuki brand ambassador who was instrumental in developing the current GSX-R1000. The first European GSX-R Rally will officially open in the late afternoon of Friday 6 July, with a welcome reception for all motorcyclists arriving in Zolder from all over Europe. Large turnout is expected especially from France, Germany, Holland and Switzerland but the many Italian fans of the GSX-R will also be able to head north and join the international community, perhaps to make new friends in the name of a common passion for the Hamamatsu sportswoman.

European GSX-R Meeting: the heart of the event

The key day will be Saturday 7th, with a busy program of events that will have Kevin Schwantz as the absolute protagonist. After greeting the participants, the Texan champion will take part in a presentation of the GSX-R and its refined technologies. After lunch, Schwantz will then join the enthusiasts for a group photo at the finish line, followed at dusk by a barbecue party that will kick off an evening of great celebrations. The final parade of the rally will therefore be held on Sunday 8th, which will be opened again by Kevin Schwantz. The parade of all the GSX-Rs will be a particularly exciting moment: joining the snake will allow everyone to pass between the curbs of the legendary Belgian circuit, which in its history has also hosted the Belgian Grand Prix of the MotoGP in 1980, as well as ten editions of the Belgian Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Special prizes. The first European GSX-R Meeting will be an opportunity to show off your own GSX-R and admire those of other enthusiasts. All the motorcycles participating in the rally will be grouped in a dedicated car park in the heart of the circuit's paddock. As well as here, GSX-R lovers will also be able to meet in a hospitality area set up by Suzuki, where, on Saturdays and Sundays, they will have free access to the VIP catering to refresh themselves. On the occasion of the rally, Suzuki Deutschland will also organize a special lottery which will offer fantastic prizes, starting with ten pairs of passes for access to the Grid Walk, with the opportunity to see the IDM riders up close on the starting grid before the start. The main prizes, however, will be two wild cars to participate in none other than the GSX-R Cup single-make trophy race. The lucky winners will therefore be able to experience an incredible adrenaline rush and the indescribable thrill of getting on track with real drivers.
