A hot and sunny day accompanied this exhilarating second round of the Polini Italian Cup which was hosted by the tortuous Latina circuit, a sports and recreational facility in central Italy which today represents a focal point for all segments of national motor sports, with notable performances in all categories and twists and turns, with spectacular duels were seen in every category where the dominance of some riders was evident right from the warm up on Sunday morning.

Scooter 70 Evolution Open: Tiraferri full loot
In the Scooter 70 category, in Race 1, clear supremacy of the dominator of this category Matteo Tiraferri followed by Roufs and Castellini who started from position number 1 but retired due to a harmless slip. The Dutch Roufs and Tiraferri give life to a spectacular duel which sees Tiraferri winning under the checkered flag, followed by Roufs himself and Penzo on the lowest step of the podium. In Race 2 another superlative performance from number 45 Matteo Tiraferri who maintained first position from the first to the last corner with a good one with Roufs finishing second and Daniel Penzo still third. Unfortunately, Castellini also crashed in race 2 but reached the finish line in 10th place.

Scooter 70 Amateurs: Spectacular Frigè from Team Yuri Moto
Scooter 70 Amatori in Race 1 Andrea Mantovani got off to a good start, followed by Alessandro Bascherini and Grossi who didn't get off to a good start at all from pole position in the morning. With several exchanges of positions Christian Galbiati takes the lead and during race 1 he loses some positions, meanwhile behind the trio Riccardo Frigè recovers with fast laps, while Mantovani goes on the run chased by Grossi. On the last lap from the end he sees Mantovani crossing the finish line ahead of Grossi and Frigè who finish the race in this order.
In Race-2 Mantovani took the lead followed by Grossi and Galbiati, a tussle between the top three throughout the race with several changes in positions. Falardi finds a good rhythm moving into third position. Mantovani leads the group for almost the entire race, but towards the end he has to give way to Super Frigè. Second is Diego Falardi who manages to win over Mantovani, third and number 66 Davide Grossi fourth.

Vespa 185 4 T: Marco Caddeo of Team Vale Racing dominates the day
Give me a Special, come summer, give me a Vespa and I'll take you on holiday! In Race-1 Marco Caddeo will certainly have thought of this song given the absolute domination of Race 1 followed by Paccagnella and Mirko Leporati who immediately caught up with the first two. The three go on the run with Marco Caddeo who begins to increase his advantage with his direct pursuers by crossing the finish line in first position ahead of Paccagnella and Leporati. Of note is the absence of Matteo Tortosa and Gianluca Cuttitta (pole position in the first official practices) who had to give up the day's races due to a harmless crash.
In Race-2 Marco Caddeo is very fast at the green light, followed by Marano again well followed by Marano and Leporati who however will have to deal with Paccagnella. Marco Caddeo scored a double of the day and won his first race in the Polini Italian Cup ahead of Marano and Leporati, while Paccagnella finished fourth. Caddeo leads the championship standings with 90 points.

Scooter 100 Big Evolution Open: Mild superlative
Exciting Race 1 of the Open, where Filippo Corsi starts in front of everyone, leading Nico Morelli and Alessandro Blando in his wake. The three absolute dominators of the day immediately gained meters on their pursuers but on the sixth lap Alessandro Blando took the lead with a breathtaking braking move. Filippo Corsi and Nico Morelli make mistakes and are relegated to the middle of the group. Blando crosses the finish line in first position followed by Starnone Fabio and Nico Morelli who recovers until the checkered flag
In Race-2 Corsi made a lightning start ahead of Starnone and Morelli. The three try to stretch. Starnone, however, makes a mistake, opening the door to Blando who begins to attack Corsi until he overtakes him. Corsi and Starnone make a mistake by sliding. The ranking changes, opening the way for Morelli and Vitali, but the latter also makes a mistake. Blando wins over Morelli and Bartolini.
Even in race 2, right from the start the protagonists are always Corsi Blando and Morelli. The three try to extend but Starnone who leads the group makes a mistake and Blando takes advantage of it. Corsi and Starnone make a mistake and slip without consequences. The final classification of race 2 sees Morelli second and Bartolini.
Antonio Righetti had a bad fall in practice and was taken to hospital and fortunately only had a big scare. Best wishes for a speedy recovery, in the hope of seeing him in Castelletto in the next championship race.

Vespa 135 cc: Benini uncatchable
In the 135 cc Vespa it was a day to remember for Benini who started from pole position but Villa and Larcher got off to a good start and attempted to escape. Stefano Villa slows down after a couple of laps and opens the way for Race 1 winner Benini, followed by Larcher who crashes at the end but still allows him to finish second ahead of Mammi.
In Race-2 this time Benini starts well ahead of Larcher and Villa with Mammi fourth. In race 2 the same brawl is repeated with Benini and Larcher studying each other in the mixed sections of the circuit, maintaining a high pace which allows them to gain ground on Villa. However, Benini is elusive and manages to dominate Race-2 too, ahead of Larcher and Villa.

Scooter 70 Ama Super Sport: the flying Slovenian
In the Ama Super Sport class, a wonderful performance by the Slovenian Marko MIhael who surprised the poleman Speziale at the start. The two are chased by Rocco Russo who tries to force the pace, giving rise to a nice duel with Gabriele Beghelli. After 4 laps a group of six riders is formed which also includes Ivan Calce of the Vale Racing team. Marko MIhael, after a series of overtaking, took the lead until the checkered flag, preceding Beghelli, Russo, Calce and Martin Mihael. Fantastic race for the Slovenian.
Race 2, Super Sport entertained the public in the stands, with very heated duels right from the start with exchanges of positions between Beghelli, Russo and Mihael Marko. Race 2 ends with the victory of Rocco Russo followed by the Slovenian Mihael and an excellent Ivan Calce. Fourth position for Beghelli. Technical problems unfortunately prevented Martin Mihael and Filippo Tognarelli from starting.
A high level performance in the second round of the Polini Italin Cup, appointment in Castelletto di Branduzzo on June 11th.
