Peugeot offers Concept Scooter Onyx

A hybrid supertrike that presents itself as an original and innovative alternative on 3 wheels

Cities evolve and with them so do mobility offers. At the crossroads of the paths between motorized two-wheelers and the car, the Concept Scooter Onyx offers an original and innovative alternative on 3 wheels capable of transforming into a motorbike or scooter, according to wishes.

Borrowing stylistic codes from the brand's cars, this 2-in-1 supertrike reveals an athletic silhouette with sculptural lines and an extra-large 200/50 R17 rear tire that lets the spirit of ultra-sport motorcycles emerge.

Cut for large spaces, designed for the city, the intelligent design of the Concept Scooter Onyx allows its rider to transform this vehicle from a motorcycle to a scooter in just a few seconds: thus offering two configurations that combine driving pleasure and practicality.

Hybrid engine

Equipped with a plug-in hybrid engine, this supertrike combines a 400 cm3 combustion engine with an electric motor to move the rear wheel.

Thanks to a combined power of 45 kW, it has a top speed of 150 km/h and is characterized by an extraordinary torque of 58 Nm, which allows exceptional acceleration and recovery. During the deceleration phase, it recovers the energy stored in the lithium ion batteries and returned during the acceleration phases. It consumes just 2L/100km, has a range of 30km to 50km/h in ZEV (zero emission vehicle) mode and can travel up to 500km in combined range.

Evolutionary driving position

At ease on all routes thanks to the performance of its hybrid engine and exceptional road holding, Concept Scooter Onyx does not stop at its status as a 3-wheeled scooter: with a choice of 2 driving positions, it adds another dimension and reveals a new form of individual mobility, which can be expressed in 2 ways: sporting or urban. In sport mode, the forward-leaning rider position leaves no doubt, it only gives way to driving pleasure. With wrists slightly supported and feet backwards, the rider forms one with Concept Scooter Onyx, with a natural aerodynamic position.

In urban mode, the rider can adopt a more classic position, with feet forward and head held high, more suitable for moving through traffic. At this point the motorbike transforms into a scooter and, given that the city requires a vehicle that is above all practical, the designers have thought of an unprecedented load space by exploiting the volume located between the seat and the front part of the vehicle. Positioned in the central part that lowers the center of gravity, this removable ClipBox perfectly integrated into the design of the Onyx Concept Scooter allows you to accommodate 2 helmets with absolute ease or luggage for a weekend trip.

 Matte Black and Copper

Irresistible, Concept Scooter Onyx is covered in matt black, whose elegance underlines the design of this vehicle. Some specific copper touches subtly reveal the technologies used. And since the rider is inseparable from the vehicle, Peugeot Scooters and the Ruby Ateliers have collaborated to develop a helmet with the Onyx identity, essential safety equipment and a very modern style accessory.
