Marco Simoncelli, global affection invades the web

When a well-known person with millions of fans dies, everyone's mourning and condolences also live on the internet and on social networks which become a sort of "virtual funeral home” in which everyone gathers together to pay homage to the missing person. Just as it had happened some time for Steve Jobs, also for Marco Simoncelli fans, enthusiasts, athletes or simple people who had been dazzled at least once by his smile and his kindness wanted to participate in the mourning, express the pain, disbelief and impotence in the face of certain events that destiny puts before us forehead. From Facebook a Twitter, from forums to blogs, the tribute for Sic has been impressive and will continue to be so in the coming days too, when many will want to pay homage to the body, expected in Italy tomorrow.

Just like his fans, his friends and colleagues in the world championship, overwhelmed by emotion and pain, also used social networks to express their first words in memory of Simoncelli. One of the most affected by Sic's death is certainly Valentino Rossi, which fate mockingly involved in that tragic accident in Sepang. Vale, yesterday evening, wrote via his Twitter profile: “Sic was like a younger brother to me, as tough on the track as he was sweet in life. I still can't believe it, I will miss him a lot."

These are just some of the messages for Simoncelli that arrive from athletes, friends, people from the entertainment industry, ordinary people, all deeply shocked and disconcerted by the awareness of having to give up forever on seeing that thick blonde hair fluttering on the back of a motorbike.
