Harley Davidson – Harley Davidson has registered a gain of 3,8% in motorcycle sales in relation to third quarter which ended on 28 September 2014, but which still saw one more 4,2% decrease in net operating income from sales. According to the quarterly report of the Harley Davidson company, the motorcycles sold during the last Q3 were 73.217 compared to the 70.517 sold in the same period last year. These sales results were supported by the launch of some new models, including the recessed Road Glide and entry-level street models.

“Following the success of the launch of some new 2015 models"Including the return of the Road Glide models, and the exceptional efforts of our dealers in the third quarter, retail sales of Harley-Davidson motorcycles are growing strongly compared to the prior-year quarter."Said Keith Wandell, president and chief executive officer of Harley Davidson. The legendary American brand has highlighted a rebound in Sportster motorcycle sales starting from the second quarter of this year and the greater availability of Street 750 and Street 500 motorcycles contributed to these positive results.

The United States alone represents a good portion of the Harley Davidson market and in this Q3 they were sold 50.167 new motorcycles against 48.529 in the same quarter of 2013. Despite the increase in motorcycle sales revenues fell to $1,13 billion, from $1,18 billion seen previously, and overall sales operating income decreased to 146,3 million dollars, from 175,5 million previously recorded. Harley-Davidson said the decline in sales revenue was an expected result of an expected reduction in motorcycle shipments. Overall Harley-Davidson reported net income of $150,1 million for the third quarter, down from the $162,7 million reported last year.
