Harley Davidson, Asian market in the sights

Harley Davidson prepares to land on the Asian market. Thus the motorcycles that are the symbol of Made in the USA try to win the trust of motorcyclists and enthusiasts from the Eastern part of the world. To implement the Asian market penetration strategy, Harley Davidson will produce the motorcycles directly in India in order to reduce costs due to customs taxes on import. From what we learn from the Indian press, the American company is already working on the transformation of four factories located in India.

The factories have so far been used to assemble kits coming from the United States, while the works will allow Harley Davidson motorcycles to be produced directly there starting completely from scratch. To understand how much Harley Davidson will be able to save with this move, just remember that Indian customs taxes are 110% on imported motorcycles and 60% on assembled kits.

A percentage that would be reduced to zero by producing Harleys directly within Indian borders. In order to take advantage of the obvious economic advantage as soon as possible and better plan its entry into the Asian market, Harley Davidson has already gathered favorable contacts from some Indian companies that manufacture components, ready to become its suppliers.
