Today this model has new life thanks to many innovative technical solutions.

The heart of the Aprilia Shiver, the V2 900 engine which has grown from the 750 cc of the first version up to 900 cc, is characterized by power, but above all the maximum torque delivered at every speed at top levels for the category. The maximum power is 95 HP (but it is also available in the version with power limited to 35 kW, which can be driven with an A2 license) and a torque of 90 Nm at 6.500. The engine, with a 90 degree angle between the two cylinders, four-valve distribution per cylinder, double overhead camshaft and liquid cooling, has been the subject of various interventions, including important work aimed at reducing friction on the pistons, characterized by a special anti-friction coating on the shell, while the pins contribute to lightening the parts in reciprocating motion. The Aprilia Shiver 900 engine is also equipped with an automatic decompressor, useful for facilitating starting in low temperature conditions. The Shiver 900 is equipped with an advanced traction control system which increases safety while raising driving pleasure to the highest levels. From the metropolitan environment, to guided routes, from mountain passes to even long-distance tourist itineraries, Shiver 900 is an invitation to strap on your helmet and set off in search of the best sensations on two wheels.

The full Ride-by-wire electronic accelerator system, which debuted on a production motorcycle on the first version of Shiver, is now completely integrated into the throttle grip, to the advantage of lightness. This also allows for even finer management of the air/fuel mixture and the opening of the injection butterflies, based on numerous parameters including engine speed, gearbox position, air flow, opening of the throttle knob (in quantity and speed) and temperature, with great benefits in terms of fluidity in driving without jerks when opening/closing, containment of polluting emissions and fuel consumption. The sophisticated electronic management also offers the possibility of modifying the engine mapping, radically changing its character in discharging the power it is capable of to the ground. Sport mode offers immediate and aggressive throttle response; the Touring logic offers a softer response, ideal for touring and everyday use, while the Rain mapping reduces the available power to around 70 HP and is therefore ideal in case of difficult weather conditions or poor grip road surfaces. The mapping can be changed at any time, even while driving, by pressing the start button.

Aprilia Shiver 900: a naked outside the box

The Aprilia Shiver 900 is a naked bike with a very particular design: from the side air intakes that embrace the front to the characteristic compact rear end, with the exhausts positioned under the saddle, the superstructures - side tank covers, side panels, tail, mudguard front – they design an original and unconventional aesthetic. The twin-cylinder from Noale also stands out for its bold finishes which underline its markedly sporty nature: the frame, the shock absorber spring and the cylinder head covers are painted red. Adrenaline details that blend with the three available colors - Hi Tech Silver and the new Challenging Red and Innovation Dark - creating an original contrast. Another characterizing element of the Aprilia Shiver are the exhausts: their positioning under the saddle helps to make the side view of the bike extremely clean, with the terminal part of the silencer short and oriented upwards. An unprecedented exhaust cap made up of concentric rings ends with a concave disc: a further bold stylistic element that makes Shiver immediately recognizable even from the rear view, also useful for directing the exhaust gases laterally and downwards, thus avoiding any interference with the passenger to ensure better comfort.

The Shiver features a TFT technology display which ensures perfect readability of the information. The large 4.3″ screen (the same used on the Aprilia RSV4 and Aprilia Tuono V4 1100) allows you to view all the on-board information in a clear and easily readable manner, also thanks to the ability to adapt the background and color of the characters depending on the light conditions detected by the integrated sensor. Information displayed includes: tachometer, speedometer, selected gear indicator, coolant temperature, air temperature, selected engine map, clock.

Through the practical MODE control joystick on the new left electric block it is possible to navigate within the menu and scroll/adjust the following parameters: odometer, traction control level, ABS ON (only when stationary), MENU (only when stationary) , Trip A, Trip A time, Trip A maximum speed, Trip A average speed, Trip A average consumption, Trip B, Trip B time, Trip B maximum speed, Trip B average speed, Trip B average consumption, instant consumption, Km travelled in reserve. The Aprilia Shiver 900 is also equipped as standard with the Aprilia Multimedia Platform (AMP) system, which ensures connectivity with the smartphone, allowing all information on incoming and ongoing calls, as well as information relating to use, to be viewed directly on the display. of the intercom and any audio tracks being played.
