5.000 Folds – Winter – Everything is ready in Volterra, one of the most fascinating locations in Tuscany, for the first edition of the Moto Italy Winter – 5.000 Pieghe, an unprecedented motorbike touring fund organized by the Moto Club Motolampeggio of Rome.

The event, which has obtained the patronage of the Municipality, will take place on Saturday 10 December, with departure and arrival in the historic town of the province of Pisa; the participants will have to tackle an itinerary of approximately 300 kilometers which will travel through the Siena area to the Maremma and then go back up towards Volterra through the metalliferous hills and the Val di Cecina. The route, traced on roads perfectly accessible with normal road motorbikes, promises to be extremely tough and selective: "we found beautiful roads that cross remote places and little-traveled locations, but which require constant commitment and concentration guide." announced the organizer Daniele Alessandrini, who also identified the itinerary.

The 5.000 Pieghe (younger sister of the spring 20.000 Pieghe, which is spread over three days) follows the formula of these events which are based not on speed but exclusively on the driving ability of the participants and the ability to respect the route . "The challenge is precisely with oneself with one's desire to clock up kilometers and with the search for one's limits; and the winter placement on the calendar naturally enhances it.” continued Alessandrini. And in fact, despite the risk of having to deal with the cold and bad weather, the event registered interest and participation. Also at stake is the title of champion of the 2016 Moto Avventura Trophy, the new challenge that has linked the triptych of tourist events organized by Motolampeggio (in addition to the Winter, also the Moto Italy Spring and the aforementioned 20.000 Pieghe) and which will award the winner will receive a very rich prize pool, worth 5.000 euros.

The program is divided into two days: on Friday 9 December, from 16.00 pm, at the Hotel Villa Nencini in Volterra, headquarters of the event, the preliminary operations, the briefing, the delivery of the roadmap and the dinner will take place in sequence. entire group. The single stage will start on Saturday morning at 8.00 am; as expected, there will be a mid-morning snack and a break for lunch; but the difficulty of the route will force participants to spend at least eight hours in the saddle. The arrival will be hosted in one of the most fascinating places in Tuscany, the Piazza dei Priori in Volterra, where the final driving skills test will also be staged. The awards ceremony will be held on Saturday evening, after dinner, again at the Hotel Villa Nencini.

Sunday is voting day for Italian motorcyclists, with the Federmoto Assembly which provides for the renewal of elective positions. Those who are free from meeting commitments will be able to take part in a short excursion to a farmhouse not far from Volterra where the organizers will offer a farewell buffet.
