Some are still in the development phase, others are exhibited at the main sector fairs as prototypes. For many others, the production phase has already begun. They are three-wheeled scooters. They are marking this last part of the year by arousing curiosity and interest.

Peugeot Metropolis Project. The name immediately brings to mind the 50cc scooter that filled the Italian streets until about twenty years ago. However, it immediately stands out due to the presence of the third wheel in the front part capable of ensuring greater road holding. Not only that, the French manufacturer's motorbike shines brightly thanks to the abundant technology it is equipped with, starting from the digital dashboard and the electric parking brake. 400cc engine with 35 horsepower (38 Nm of torque and top speed of 150 km/h), it is equipped with an adjustable windscreen, key-less system and spacious underseat compartment. Price and market launch date have not yet been officially communicated.

Piaggio MP3. Available in three variants, Yourban, Touring and Hybrid, this is an old favorite. The first model was put on the market five years ago. It has since improved the appearance and implemented new technical features. The new entry Yourban, in particular, released in the two versions of 125 and 300 cubic centimeters, combines decisive maneuverability thanks to a drastic reduction in weight compared to the other models.

And what about the Chinese scooter three-wheeled vehicle (the YB 250 ZKT produced by Kaitong Motor under the Yiben brand) seized by the Financial Police at the EICMA 2011 in Milan because it was considered "very similar" to the Piaggio MP3? Is this a sign that the three-wheel formula is working?
